August 18, 201114 yr I followed your advice, Paul, and that did the trick for me too. I removed the 737NGX, downloaded the latest instillation from PMDG, and installed it. No more CTD's when exiting and no gauge freezes on the latest flight. I would advise anyone having issues with HotFix 3 to follow the above steps and see how that works for them. Edward Smoker Sr.
August 18, 201114 yr Hi Firstly let it be known like many of us here - THIS IS A TRULY AMAZING PRODUCT!! Thank you PMDG team.My story is similar since hotfix 3 - I updated only as it does say 'advised to be mandatory for all users' so I went ahead and installed the hotfix 3 after previously from the intial install i bought the day after it came out i never had any problems what so ever. Since i installed hotfix 3 each flight i do i get a 'fatal error, flight sim is restarting' - after about 15-20 mins :( Will now try what Paul has suggested and completley remove the 737ngx and reinstall and see if that works for me - but i thought i would post as it is good the team see that there are people that it worked fine for from the start, but after hotfix 3 some of those people are getting the fatal error....the more info we give the better! hopefully reinstalling will solve the prob and take me back to the beautiful hours i had before i installed it! PS ...please bring back the wingflex as in the original version!! pretty please:P i7 980X Extreme 1366 12gb Corsair DDR3 1600 ASUS 1.536Gb GeF GTX 580 PCI-E 2.0 ASUS SKT-1366 Sabertooth X58 S/L 6400MT/s Antec full tower 1200 Cooler Master UCP PSU 1100w Corsair CSSD 64GB Samsung 2TB 5400rpm Creative SB X-FI Titanium Fatality Thermaltake CL-P0564 CPU Cooler Windown 7 Home Premium 64bit Been flying FS since the BBC Micro Version !!

The "Everyone just install the dam hotfix" approach is ludicrous. They argue that we should install it even if we are not having problems because there are problems we just aren't observant enough to notice. Well, guess what? If I can't detect the problem, how will I benefit from it being fixed? Trevor

TrevorTrevor, Everything we're receiving at support and off the forums here is being entered into the bug tracking system and the programmers are going through it fixing things, leading up to SP1. These hotfixes are going to become SP1, this isn't just some hacked together thing here. There are very real CTD/freeze cases that have been fixed in these hotfixes - not the random (likely memory related) stuff we're still seeing, but verified "if you do this, you will CTD" type stuff. I don't think anyone wants those kinds of bugs in the plane when they're flying around, regardless of how "perfect" you think the first release was. There's been numerous other fixes not related to freezing/CTDs too: - A major map shift bug with the EGPWS TERR mode that could cause erroneous terrain display- Changes that try to alleviate the multiplayer UDP flooding stuff- Changes to fix inaccurate TO/GA speed bug and MCP window behavior- Fixes for several saved flight related issues including several crashes- Fixes to CWS mode operation- Fixes to various LNAV and VNAV situations that could result in a loop or erroneous predicted path- Fixes to certain options not saving like the airstairs Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
August 19, 201114 yr Wish i read this topic before i got it. Plane was working great for me with no fix. Why don't I drink scotch that has been aged for the bare 3-year minimum? Because scotch is so much better when it's refined. I'll wait for SP1--the equivalent of the Macallan 64--and let those who need a quick buzz have the McClelland's Highland (yuck!). Trevor Moore

I installed the latest hotfix, 2nd flight on it, had a panel freeze (first one ever) right after I landed. Everything was working fine up until now. Not complaining, just trying to report it to you guys, if you want a more detailed report, let me know and I can email you guys, or try the support ticket again tomorrow. August 29, 201114 yr Author Just a small update.Still Running the NGX RTM-Version without any problems !Done several flights with fully automated flying and autoland. No Problems !Also done several VOR-Aproaches without any Problems ! Also manual flying is working as expected.Never have had Freeses or CTD's. First got them after HF 3, luckily I could remove it again. The problem I have had with autobrake and reverse thrust, was related to a failure from my side. Now also this Part is working. August 29, 201114 yr Outside of an initial crash which i believe was just user created. I just downloaded the NGX, activated it and didn't even set up my controllers, then just threw a flight plan into the FMC and tried it out. I have not had a problem since setting up my system and NGX. I have stated in previous threads that, unless i get problems, i think i'll just wait for the SP1. Reading your post just convinces me even more. From what i have been reading for the last 10 days and things go the way they have with my set up, i might even wait for reaction before installing the SP1.Sorry if that raises a few eyebrows, but me and Murphy's law have had run-ins before, +1 I installed the RTM version no problems, when I installed Hotfix 1 it didn't CTD but I lost the movement in the aircraft, you know when you adjust the payload or fuel, it just didn't seem right so I rolled back to the RTM. My concern now is that when I eventually inxtall SP1 that these problems will reoccur. Dave Boreham
August 29, 201114 yr +2! since my earlier post when i reverted back to the RTM - no problems at all....been a week now and lots of flights..... they cant deny hotfix 3 hasnt caused issues....I will only install SP1 when users like ureselves sayu got no problems:P Kye i7 980X Extreme 1366 12gb Corsair DDR3 1600 ASUS 1.536Gb GeF GTX 580 PCI-E 2.0 ASUS SKT-1366 Sabertooth X58 S/L 6400MT/s Antec full tower 1200 Cooler Master UCP PSU 1100w Corsair CSSD 64GB Samsung 2TB 5400rpm Creative SB X-FI Titanium Fatality Thermaltake CL-P0564 CPU Cooler Windown 7 Home Premium 64bit Been flying FS since the BBC Micro Version !!
