New version of the Diamond Katana

Featured Replies

Not that there was much wrong with it, but it's nice that Marcel was able to fix the gap between the canopy and the fuselage that us TrackIR users could see when looking back. And today's freeware KHQM release was just the perfect place to check out the Katana upgrades Applause.gif

I was researching this but couldn't find much on the flight dynamics of this add-on. Does anyone know if it supports stalls, side-slips or spins?

It's pretty much amazing... I don't have any stick time in the katana (I only once taxiied in one). Stalls - yep. Forward slips work fine. I don't think it's certified for spins. I've yet to try one out actually.

Sounds good. I am looking for a GA plane to try some advanced flying. It looks like the Real Air SF260 has those capabilities and I wanted to compare it to this plane which has some other nice benefits.

GA is my favorite... Anything by RealAir - I love the DukeCarenado's latest offerings are decent, the T210M CenturionFlight1's T182 and Citation Mustang are greatOrbx Lancair is great... The Katana is pretty basic regarding IFR flight... It only has a VOR (and a vfr gps i suppose) but it's excellent on the feature side of things. Probably the most realistic GA plane for FSX.

Thank you for the feedback. I love the Duke, too. I have that, Carenado's 185 & F33A and Twin Otter. I was thinking of getting the 340 also eventually along with SF260 or Scout or Katana for slipping/spinning and maybe Carenado's 337 and Islander eventually, too. Bah, so many planes to get :)
