PMDG 737 NG X wont autoland completely.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've also got a problem with 737 autoland procedure. I know how it works and I autolanded the plane on so many airports. But it doesn't work at the airport of Vienna (LOWW, Runway 29)! Can anyone help me?

Can anyone help me?
LOWW runway 29 has a localizer frequency of 109.70 in FSX. Current charts indicate the frequency is 109.55.

Yes, but isn't it correct that it is scenery dependent?  I believe default scenery will have one frequency, though an updated AFCAD and/or payware scenery will have another?

You are correct. PMDG's Airac shows :

SCHWECHAT               LOWW11 11483112 48.122814  16.533358110.3011200575

SCHWECHAT               LOWW16 11811161 48.119783  16.578167108.5016100597

SCHWECHAT               LOWW29 11483292 48.109047  16.575631109.5529200600 <<<<<<<<< 109.5 (ILS Freq)

SCHWECHAT               LOWW34 11811341 48.088631  16.591339108.1034100586

This is true if you have up to date scenery / AFCAD.

Otherwise you use the FSX freq. 109.7

You can test/verify by just sitting on rwy (Cessna e.g.) and dial each freq and see which is working.

109.7 works for me.

109.7 works for me.
It should work fine since that is the frequency in FSX and since the 737 nav radios are manually tuned just set them for 109.7. However everything that is current shows a frequency of 109.55. Someone flying into LOWW for the first time would either get the freq from a current chart or the INIT REF page of the FMC which will show 109.55 which will not match what is in FSX. Use airport design editor to change the AFCAD.

I believe you are correct. FSX default is 109.7 and FlyTampa addon is 109.55.

"However everything that is current shows a frequency of 109.55"

Here is the deal, basically:

If you use default FSX scenery then use old charts which have old data and runways/diagrams/taxiways etc.

"Someone flying into LOWW for the first time would either get the freq from a current chart" .... or they need old charts .. they know which scenery they have purchased or free updates for.

If you use a new scenery use new charts which show todays freqs and runways.

** over the years some old runways (FSX) are now closed ... some new ones added etc.

"INIT REF page of the FMC which will show 109.55 which will not match what is in FSX. Use airport design editor to change the AFCAD."

Correct ... that is what I originally mentioned (This is true if you have up to date scenery / AFCAD.) ... you need new scenery / afcad to make all agree with todays data.

During pre-flight verify all this and markup your plates with the data that is correct for your setup .. including alternate airports that may be used .

Infrequently I use FSX default airports but unfortunately I don't have any old charts. If the ILS freq has changed and it's VFR it's ok. If it IFR, I have the flight attendants prepare the cabin and passengers for impact.
