August 27, 201114 yr Can someone explain the difference between "fail passive" and "fail operative", please?Fail Operational gives you automatic Flare and Rollout.Fail Passive only gives you Flare so you will have to steer the plane after touchdown. You need the Collins MCP for a Fail Operational autoland. Below 1500 ft Fail Operational will announce Land 3.Below 1500 ft Fail Passive will announce CMD. Both will annouce CH 1 above 1500 ft after localizer capture. Frederic Steiner.
August 27, 201114 yr Author Hi Jeff! I was flying from Darwin. Then going to Perth, doing an Australia Tour, coming from Reunion Island :) Franck Feuillade
August 27, 201114 yr I usually land NGX with LAND 3 autoland. This means I set all settings properly.Today I flew this plane 4 airports withourt restarting FSX nor resetting aircraft, last landing made me crazy with thid abnormal disconnect.Airport was WBKK ILS 02, confirmed LAND 3 but suddenly A/P disconnected just before touchdown.I flew almot half of runway and finally landed safely.. I also experienced twice sudden right-hand rolling after this LAND 3 disconnection, too. There's definetly something wrong with NGX.. I'm using latest hotfix. Peter Chang
