PSS and 747

Featured Replies

I hope that PSS can produce a 747 before someone else beats them to it.

Hi,I think that PMDG will beat them. Their B744 is planned for a spring 2004 release. ;-)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/frames/744.htmI am confident that this product will be able to be compared with the excellent Aerowinx PS 1. And I heard a roumor that some staff from PS1 actually are participating in PMDG

I think PMDG will we be the 747 kingsJason

IMO it going to depend on the quality the user is looking for. If they are an inexperienced simmer or someone wanting a quick and simple flight, looking for a good standard B744, then PSS will be just fine. On the other hand, if an experienced simmer, or someone wanting the most realistic B744 with all the trimming, then PMDG would be the one to choose. I know what I would choose ;-)

PMDG is well on the way! I once really liked PSS products but now I will not buy from them! There aircraft are full of bugs and just don't appeal to me any more! Go back 3-4 years when there 747 and 777 was released and PSS where kings! Now they have really lost that edge! FS9 has been out for 6 months now and we are still waiting for patches on there Dash 8, Vulcan and A320.If you want quality then go PMDG! Try there 737NG. It will blow your mind!To date there has only every been 4 add-ons that really made me go WOW!RealityXP, Eglesoft, PMDG737 and 767PIC with a Posky merger! And I've been in this hobby since I had FS on my Commadore Amiga 500 back in 88. ( 16yrs now )Pete

IMHOThe current king of the 747 is Ready for Pushback 747-200. It's going to take a lot of beating. The PMDG may end up being the king of the -400, but they are going to have to come up with some really amazing stuff to beat the RFP as the 747 king.RegardsRussell Jourdain (NZL007/ZK-RHJ)

But have PMDG got the inimitable John H. to helpus, like PSS has?Peter Sydney Australia

I couldn't agree more. PMDG really strives for realism and thus incorporates systems, not just good looking add-ons. PSS would have more business from me if they modeled more systems and added more to their packages, including free liveries like PMDG and others. I am still waiting for the upgrades for the Dash-8 and Airbus A320, however, unless they fix the flight dynamics for the Airbus, I won't bother. Never have understood why it banks like an F-16! Between the sick passengers and falling baggage, a real Airbus would never sell if it flew like that!

Actually I flew a flight from KMSP to KMDW (Northwest) and the approach reminded me of the PSS version. It actually didn't feel as bad as I thought. Our A320 flew north towards downtown Chicago and banked hard to runway 22L. It was kind of cool... PSS really should fix their products and make them fully FS2k4 compatible (Interactive VC's, etc). I'm in agreement about PMDG's 747 beating out a PSS offering. I'd rather see them fix their A320 and Dash8 series instead of jumping to a whole new product. That A330/340 didn't make since when their current line up wasn't up to standards in FS2k4.In the end you never know, PSS might surprise us all... Guess I'm not ready to throw in the towel on PSS yet, after all they have given us the best Airbuses to date. No one else has come close.
