GMAX C-17... any NEWS?!

Featured Replies

Yes, please don't cancel the C17 project! The FS2002 version is probably the best military cargo aircraft that I have ever seen and used! I really enjoyed the FS2002 version. Soon after Microsoft released their FS2004, I then wondered if I could find a new C17 for this sim.I've never taken a ride in a real C17, but would sure love to fly her in FS2004! Even for a reasonable price! If this project takes another 6 months, I'll wait - it should be worth it, and by that time, MS should have all their SDK's released (fingers crossed). That C17 model in FS2004 looks fantastic! I just hope Owen and the rest won't cancel her.Cheers!David

I agree.. love that post, and I saw old '57 when she was in getting her sheetmetal work done after the incident just a few weeks ago. I know there are a lot of people that would love to see this bird done, I for one.. for all the times I've been standing out in freezing rain servicing liquid oxygen or changing a tire or a brake, and the thousands of preflight/postflight inspections I've done while home and half way around the word in some "stan" country only because the C-17 flys in there and she needs her maintainers.I just fail to understand how you can be so far in to a project and then "scrap" it for what ever reason. I doubt its lack of information because I have 2 gigs worth of Technical Data on my computer on it. You want to know how to change an engine with pictures, a fire extinguisher bottle, pilot's seat? I've got it.And to scrap a project is one thing, but if you are going to abandon it, why not let go what you've done and let someone else finish it? I guess I just dont understand why you'd let all that work go to waste?http://home.comcast.net/~svtcobra281/C17chiefsm.jpg

YES! Please finish her. She's such a beautiful aircraft. -Daniel

Niet to payware. But heres to bumpage for the people! :D

My vote to support this marvellous project...Please, do NOT cancel it... There so many eager simmers waiting for this beauty!.. It certainly gonna be sad not to see GMAX Globemaster in the skies of ACOF...Max.

I would go along with "seemingly" the majority (at least those that posted) and wholeheartedly support this project. :-jumpy I ported across the POSKY C-17 from FS2002 and did the tweaks posted by others to get it looking reasonably good in FS9 but there is no real comparison to the GMAX model previously shown here........by the way what happened to the screenshot? ;(It looked way cool! anything new on this front?

This was discussed fairly recently on the POSKY forums, and I emailed Owen and enquired about the status of the C-17. This was about a month ago, so presumably is reasonably up to date info! Owen has said that the C-17 will be 'giftware'...a free download for owners of FSD products. He is currently working on the VC I believe, but he also said that the next two FSD releases are taking priority over the C-17.But hopefully it will appear at some stage! I can't wait!Regards,Al.

thanks, I'll purchase it or simply one of their other AC just to get this. Thanks for the update!
