FPS dropping to 10 every 30 sec.

Featured Replies

Hello, I love PMDG 737 NGX, but I have one problem with it.Around every 30/45 sec. fps are dropping for next 3 sec to +/- 10fps - then coming back to normal ( 30-40fps ). I tried many things to fix that but nothing helped. My system specs:Windows 7 Core i7 @ 3.8GHZDDR3 RAM - 6GBGTX 580 MSI Regards,Chris

Is this happening while flying on Online? I have had that problem before, was usually a server getting overloaded. The easiest way to test it is disconnect and watch your frame rates. If they stay steady use a different server.

Could you give us some more details? What are you doing, what view etc

Frame rates dropping and then going back up is farily typical for FS addons. Your experience may be more extreme than is typically seen but there are so many variables it will take some effort to track down properly. Have you tried a process monitors ?

I experienced the same symptoms using ASE on the standard depiction mode. Switching to direct weather control solved it on my system

I have checked few things and its not 737 NGX - its FSX. This is happening also with PMDG MD11 and some other aircrafts ( mostly in virtual cockpit ) and without any other addons turned on ( ASE, squawkbox... ). Any ideas what can be a reason?

WILD GUESS: Registered FSUIPC, saving flight every 30 seconds ?. For a more logical approach, run process monitor, and see if you have something outside of FSX grabbing CPU every 30 seconds. Stop downloading Torrents when running Flight Sim Shame%20On%20You.gif

I have found reason of FPS crazy behavior! I have set nvidia Inspector to override any FSX Antialiasing. In FSX Antialiasing was also selected. When I have unselected it in FSX problem totally dissapered. Sorry for my English. Regards, Chris

What motherboard are you using?

No matter what you have checked in FSX. Nvidia inspector should override it if set to do so! I tried it for the jest of it. makes no difference. You want to know the truth of the matter, look here.http://forum.avsim.n...drop-in-frames/
Not true. If you have AA checked in FSX and forcing AA outwith, you can get some confusion between the two.

I can confirm this has happened to me as well. I have a very similar configuration (EZDOC, ASE, REX2, WOAI) and was seeing frame-rates dropping to 10 every few seconds and going back up to 30. This doesn't happen every time, sometimes the frames are fine between FSX starts. Any PMDG insights on this? It would be great to hear this is something recognized and being worked on for SP1. Thanks,Sam Kharey

I'm having the same issue as well. On startup I get around 25 FPS then it drops to about 12 FPS about a minute later.

Not true
It most certainly CAN be true. I've tested for this many times on TWO separate PCs and FSX installations. If both FSX and vNidia are settings are on, BOTH these PCs show erratic fps as well as some other odd symptoms. I know it doesn't make make sense but then, neither does much about FSX does itLOL.gif

Had the same issue turned it was AVG after I uninstalled it. Now im getting steady frames.
