December 15, 201114 yr Also, if I want to upgrade to 2700k now, i'll have to change my motherboard too, since it needs 1155 socket.I don't know what type of socket ivy bridge will use but i don't want to change my motherboard once again when they are released. So maybe waiting for the ivybridge, and upgrading both CPU and motherboard when it comes out is a better way to go.Ivybridge CPUs use the LGA1155 socket, same as Sandybridge. Your motherboard would handle either just fine.BTW, I've just built a Sandybridge i5 2500K system which is now overclocked to a modest 4.4 GHz and paired with a 570 GTX. It is a fantastic imporvement over my quadcore 9550/275 GTX which was overclocked to 3.6 GHz. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

December 15, 201114 yr Actually Wayne, i have heard rumors that the ivy bridge may not be compatible with our existing P67 & Z68 boards. That would be sad. I saw a post yesterday direct from ASROCK support that said Ivy Bridge would be compatible with at least Z68 and not to worry. Brad Rich
December 15, 201114 yr Some 1155 boards will require a firmware update. Aside from that they are compatible Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64

December 15, 201114 yr I can't promise that ALL p67/z68 boards will support them, but I remember reading an article/pr saying there would be at least some compatibility. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
