September 9, 201114 yr Well i know that this has been talked about in about 100 threads but i am seeing this everyday know even with the sliders on middle instead of to the right and was wondering if it is possible to narrow the problem down to a graphiccard problem or a CPU or RAM problem ? My system is I7-950@4,2HD5870 1GBSSD 128GB w7-64Raptor 300GB /FSX,ENB,UTX,GEX,UT2 35%,REX HD2048 0%FSX traffic,60NM clouds,Autogen Normal, water low 2x ,everything else to the right,no shadows etc.6GB 1600 Dominator RAM 7--7-20 ThanksMichael Michael Moe
September 10, 201114 yr Nothing wrong with your pc spec. The key thing is that FSX will only use 4GB of Virtual Memory max before OOM will occur.Task manager doesn't give an accurate reading of memory usage by a program.Google for Process Explorer, and then make sure you have the 'Virtual Size' column selected. It will show you how much virtual memory FSX is using.Personally, I've found only enabling scenery that I'm using helps reduce the amount of VM used. Also, I'd try disabling UTX, as depending on your settings if can be a heavy hitter. Also, are you using any cfg tweaks?Chris
September 10, 201114 yr Author thanks.i will try the new tool for watching memory.task manager shows between 1.6 to 1.9gb when the oom hits.funny last night at EHAM 2.7gb no oom whitout ut2 on approach.i have the usepools at zero and the highmem fix. Michael Moe

September 10, 201114 yr Hi. You want to look at virtual size and should find that you get an OOM around 4gb.Chris
September 10, 201114 yr Author Holy banana This has has changed my doubt that it is my PC that causes the problem. Thank you very much. now there is only comprimises to be made Thanks again Michael PS! Does 4xAA do anything that minimise the load on VAS ? Michael Moe
September 12, 201114 yr I found out, that settings set to default, will decrease the VAS to about 3,7gb. I know it depence on your other addons, but it's just about there, you put your setting-slider. I can live with that, untill there (maybe) comes a solution. Ole D.

Thank you very much. now there is only comprimises to be made Thanks again Michael PS!Does 4xAA do anything that minimise the load on VAS ?I have just dropped my Inspector settings down to 4xS & 2xSS to try out and it helped smooth things out and allowed me to go a little higher with my settings in FSX with less stutters. I also don't see much difference in the quality of the graphics. Rick Hobbs
