Cleared to land....then this...

Featured Replies

As it says... I was cleared to land...this never showed up on TCAS and there were no radio calls that i could hear to it from the tower etc.... Not bothered about it but has anyone had anything like that?

I've had this happen numerous times. It's worse when you're just about to touch down and a plane is taking off on the same runway in the opposite direction. I use Super Traffic Board to help eliminate these types of conflicts. http://www.supertrafficboard.com/index_STB.html

Yup, it happens. I normally open the speed brakes and send the F/O to operate the nose turret guns and shoot them down, which is harsh, but fair. Al

Coincidentally, fsuipc DOES include a 'traffic zapper' for offending aircraft once they get within certain parameters (or you maneuver to line them up), and I DO use it, even to clear my gate for parking at times. That Pete Dowson - he thinks of everything!
