Better Sky Colors?

Featured Replies

Im looking for somthing to replace the crappy FSX sky colors.. it seems that HDE ver 2 has sky colors, but when ya try to use them, it crashes FSX upon startup. So it seems I may need to find other ones.

REX, FEX, add Shade to the mix and it's real as it gets...

I never said I was looking for the best.. Just somthing a lil better then default PURPLE!?!? purple has gotta be the worst color of a sunrise ever. Have the FS designers ever even witnessed a sunrise?

You need to use the HDE v2 sky texture that were converted for FSX use. Here's the link http://simviation.com/1/download-file?file=hdeskytexturesfsx-1.zip&fileId=34817The converted ones for FSX work fine and I have actually used bits and pieces of them with REX sky colors to get the look I want. The only think from the original HDE package you can use in FSX is the clouds, but the sky textures that came with that package wont work in FSX.

+1 for Shade, I enjoy it. REX is also great but if you're only interested in the sky textures I'd go for Shade.

I've got REX and FEX textures coming out the ears, but I still go back to Pablo Diaz's sky colors. Yes, sometimes the best things in FS ARE free.... Cheers

If one ignores the lack of undercarriage, it's actually quite a nice landing.

REX has some pretty good free environment maps on thier sitehttp://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/downloads.htmldownload "Water Environment Reflection & Color Maps".i would also recommend enbseries for making the lighting and colors a lot more realistic.here are a couple of threads about enbhttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/349198-custom-enb-palette/http://forum.avsim.net/topic/347673-enbseries-upgrade/
