September 23, 201114 yr So Im trying to set up BOS-LHR in the flight planner, but it keeps taken me northwest, then up to the arctic, then down to India, and finally a zig-zag to England. A 10,000+ mile trip that could be straight North Atlantic, then down. What do I need to do to get the North Atlantic Route?btw im using the CS777 with the default 747 cockpit. Thanks,
September 23, 201114 yr That's normal. The default planner can only build routes using airways in its database, and they have to all connect. Since there are no airways across the North Atlantic, it is not possible for the default planner to create a route over the North Atlantic. It uses what airways it can find to make a connecting route, so you end up with that result. Regards.Ernie.
September 23, 201114 yr Author Hi,Thanks Ernie,So if the default flight planner can't build a trans-Atlantic route, what do you recommend?A new flight-planner? Or something else? any recommendations would be gladly acceptedThanks,

September 23, 201114 yr I fly a lot of North America to Europe routes. Look for something called NATracks(North Atlantic Tracks)as these routes are assigned on a daily basis by RW ATCs and you will find that you will be routed via NW Canada up through Greenland,Iceland, across the wide expanses of the Atlantic before dropping down via the Shetland Is.,N.Scotland, down into EGLL. FlightSim Commander of EFB will generate these routes for you. There may be others as I only use these two. Rick Almeida
