October 14, 201114 yr I use REX2.0 for cloudscapes, skies and so on, using ASE's weather generation... I need to check which sky colour and so on is being used there... Andrew Andrew Entwistle
November 30, 201114 yr Did this issue ever get resolved? Which add on was the problem? I just posted this exact same issue in this forum. Texture tiles beyond a certain distance and under certain visibilitys are drawn in white. I am running simmilar addons to this poster like REX, ASE, Shade and Shader mod 3. I was hoping the culprit has been isolated. This happens in all weather depiction modes. Marc Lynn
December 16, 201114 yr Author Hi,for what I have understood the issue is caused by Shade. For me the problem started just after the shade's installation and in another forum was reported the same.Doing some tests I have verified that, in case of fog, if I use Shade I get the problem without that everything is fine.
May 11, 201214 yr I would like to bump this post. I notice at least for me this problem has nothing to do with Shade. Shade just makes it more obvious. What shade does is color the fog a darker color than the stock FSX which is white. Even w/o Shade textures you can see this white line when the vis is between 3-10 miles. The next step would be to try to color the fog back to white to make it less noticeable but in all my research this is a stock FSX issue. I would like to think most do not notice it because they are not running shade and or are running the haze layer(no AS) and it is hidden from view. When this haze layer is present you can only see the haze and the ugly line is hidden. I think Microsoft designed it this way. So it is a catch 22. We either fly with the ugly haze following the aircraft at high altitude or we get to look at the distant scenery going away on a low visibility approach. That is what is happening is the scenery beyond the visibility line is not being rendered. Anyone found out anything new about this extremely annoying problem? Limiting the lowest vis in AS is just not an option for me. If it is really 5 miles than that is what I want to see, just in a normal way. Marc Lynn
