October 11, 201114 yr The vast majority of my NGX flights begin with one of three frustrating BUGS. Either the fuel temperature is off-scale and the hydraulic pumps are overheated(I get that this is a panel state saving issue, please admit it's a BUG and indicate plans for fixing it), the flight is loaded with brakes failed(this occurs without any brakes problem or heat from the previous flight, problem a panel state BUG) or the everything goes smoothly until the yaw damper won't engage, as indicated by the light staying on(this occurs with a properly set up overhead, with no changes from flights where it doesn't occur) These BUGS are quite annoying. Please fix. They are NOT user error. I would appreciate an actual troubleshooting/fixing effort from PMDG rather than a restatement of the apparent PMDG position that NGX has no BUGS and all problems are user error.
October 11, 201114 yr Darrol, While PMDG most likely is aware of the issues, go ahead and write a ticket at Precisionmanuals.com -> Product Support -> Submit a new Ticket. The Team rarely browses every thread to respond to and remedy any issues members have, but they always read tickets that arrive on their desk. The only chance you have of getting a response from the team is by submitting a ticket! Jason, I'm not quite sure Darrol was suggesting he couldn't fly the PMDG or that he disliked the product. It really seemed like he just wanted to know what was going on with the bug fixes. If Darrol planned to simulate, for instance, an Engine Hyd failure procedure he'd be SOL because the glitches he's encountering make the Electric Pumps inoperative, throwing off any realistic checklist/procedure flying. Just saying. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
October 11, 201114 yr Why are these 3 little things so annoying ?I'm sure if they are really bugs that PMDG are well aware of them. They are very trivial in comparison to other much more complex system funtionality.Do they stop you from flying ? Let's say I've got 3 hours to do a flight. Reloading and redoing my setup because a BUG showed up takes up some of that time. Same thing if the brake failure sends me into a building. Also, I enjoy being able to use my previous flight's panel state and not having to constantly reload from cold and dark to clear a BUG. Not to mention that I paid $70 dollars, and PMDG is acting like they gave it away for free.
October 11, 201114 yr Admittedly, I don't read EVERY thread in this forum, but I do read most of them. I don't recall PMDG ever calling these three annoyances user error. Please reference the thread if I am wrong. Otherwise I don't see the value of slinging insinuations at PMDG when they may very well not be aware of a problem. Kenneth is correct. A simple support ticket would probably solve the issue. PMDG has NEVER stated that the NGX has no bugs. Geez Louise Dennis Trawick Screen Shot Forum Rules
October 11, 201114 yr I would just wait patiently for SP1 which is hopefully due out in the next week or two. At HF3, I always start my flights from Free Flight with the PMDG Cold and Dark panel state as default and this avoids the problems you've described. If they're still present in SP1, feel free to complain but they're well known so I doubt this will be the case. FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb 9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps
October 11, 201114 yr Not quite sure where you are going with these BUGs or why you feel the need to capitalise the word. If you save a faulty panel state, it will stay faulty, how is that a bug? If you have problems when you load the faulty panel state that you saved, why are you coming here and annoying the rest of us with them? Of course you can continue a flight from a previous panel state, but only if the flight you are continueing was started from a known good state. If you have evidence that a flight you started from cold and dark has a corruption in its saved panel state, then you have evidence of a legitimate problem that I am sure PMDG would like to hear about through normal channels, but if you are whinging because you are not getting the personal service you think you deserve for a $70 product, then I suspect you need a refresher course in capitalism. Paul Smith.
October 11, 201114 yr As Paul stated I had the same issues in early beta when I would load and old panel configuration into a newer software release.Delete your old configuration and try rebuilding it if you have installed and hotfix's
