Very informative post Iain. I agree with about 90 percent of what you stated. I have learned to respect x-plane after a few weeks of using it. If you are a FSX/p3d user give x-plane a try and after a few weeks you will see the potential the sim has to offer...my $ .02

You Piston-headed Pilots are going to fall in love with this aircraft. She is a dream to fly and provides an excellent simulation of aircraft from the golden age of air travel.

And its not that the other members of the Beta team are not involved with the forums its just that Kyle does an excellent job. We provides a good and receptive outlook on our flight sim community. Its true though, no members of the Beta team are moderators on this forum. We don't always spend a lot of time going through the forum looking for questions to answer. Some of us have different interface tools outside of the forum to interact with the community as well. I will go out on a limb and say if there is ever something that I as a tester can do for you please leave me a message here on the forums and I might get to it some day (assuming I am not testing that is... :mellow:).

I just don't see PMDG giving them rights to use their software to make a combat mod. Just my 2 cents worth.

Have you gone back to your orders on the PMDG website and redownloaded your NGX? The SP1D includes the Operations Center with it to allow you to download and install liveries.

Try another browser or clear your cookies and try it again. my 2 cents

Over 50 hrs of testing on sp1d and I never encountered an OOM situation. I really think you have an issue with your setup. Perhaps a scenery is really gobbling up your VAS, i would look there first. Try turning a few things off and watch your load at that time. If your using WX generation and texture lower the resolution and compression.

I just say...pick the plane that interest you the most and learn to fly it. It really doesn't matter if its a Cessna 152 or a B747. Its flight simulator after all, if you mess up just reset the sim and try again. Now I personally think the modern jets are easier to fly than the regional prop liners because of the automation. I only think this now because I started at the bottom and after a bunch of reading and understanding I realized that when you conquer one plane with a FMC....the rest are very similar. -my 2¢

Kyle he mentioned that he did install it as Admin in his OP...Firewall maybe a an issue as well though. I cant remember and I am not at my computer to verify but could this also be a SP issue? ie. must install to a certain SP before the 600/700 can be installed. -- This will need to be verified against the readme files --

FSINN weather simulator ingestion has always created a greater than normal OAT at higher altitudes (Cruise). This will cause the aircraft to operate at a higher density altitude than what is normal; ultimately causing the engines to have no performance to them (decay of airspeed).

I have not noticed an increase in VAS usage between the 777 RTM and SP1. My disclaimer is that I don't constantly stare at my VAS usage, this is just an overall impression. I do not have a powerful machine and I therefore have had to decreased a lot of eye candy to ensure that my simulator runs smoothly. T7 continues to fly well on my machine.

Really looking forward to the forums becoming a respectful and helpful base of information again.
