You want to run FSX smoother for $999.00.......

Hello alainNo need here, FSX is smooth as silk for me.
...me too but who does not want to add more eye candy to FSX......I know that triple chanels help for the smoothness of FSX (as I used to run double chanels) so I can't wait to see how much data we can move from point A to point B with some fast DDR4 (with tight timing of course)...to expensive for now as this is brand new.....wait another 8 to 12 months..PCI-e 3.0 are also around the corner....

4 way placebo effect is round the corner again! can't wait laugh.pngToo bad there will be no QPI vs DMI and uncore speed debates this time, surely the awesome BCLK "overclock" will make a huge difference though (even if it's not really a BCLK overclock, but rather just a CPU + RAM combo multiplier) and my awesome 32 lane PCIe controller will blow your poor 2500K out of the water in my single GPU setup tongue.png

RAM sticks in quad channel kits are exactly the same ("identical") as the RAM sticks in triple and dual channel. The only difference is when you open the blister pack the quad channel kit has 4 RAM sticks, whereas the triple and dual channel kits have 3 and 2 kits, respectively. The only scenario in which quad channel RAM might make a difference is when IB2011 MBs are released. Cheers, - jahman.

Of course you'll need the new hardware to take advantage of the DDR4 memory as it is nonsense to get it now.

What hardware is that? because SB-E and IB won't support DDR4 RAM. Maybe by Haswell?

You didn't understand my post: There is no DDR4 RAM now! The Quad Channel RAM Kit that you link to sports four DDR3 sticks. You could by this kit today and stuff two of those sticks into an SB dual channel MB today (and have two sticks left over), or you could stuff three sticks into a triple channel MB today (and have one stick left over.)
Corsair today announced the world’s first high-performance quad channel Dominator 32GB DDR3 memory kit.
DDR4 is in the works for next year (2x DDR3 max BW!), but the DDR4 idea of a RAM channel is fairly different from that of DDR2 and DDR3. Cheers, - jahman.

Alain, Those are DDR3 ram sticks. DDR4 is still years away. If you want more speed, you will have to wait till next year. But, don't think you will max out FSX in all weather scenerios. We are a long way from there.

Read the rest of the thread, Jim. Or maybe I missed something?!

Not looking to max out FSX, DDR4 (when out) should move more data and faster = smoothness....
