Existing Addon Compatibility

Featured Replies

I was going to ask if there was any information on the compatibility of existing addons to FSX. While some may not be needed others remain a possible "must" for some people. However, after reading a message from Orbx in another set of messages, right now it seems that compatibility is totally unknown. I am reluctant to spend another $100US on some things I had my eye on for FSX just to extend its enjoyment factor a bit longer. Those purchases really do not make sense if December 2011 brings a strong flying Game (simulator) to the market.with either no need for some addons or no way to use them. This remains a significant mystery element that undoubtedly could be answered by Microsoft. This is especially true given the commitment of the old team (before they were fired) to support third party developments.

Correct, totally unknown.

If Flight turns out to be good I sure hope not. Hopefully addons can be made much better in Flight than in FSX.

Given that they (Microsoft Game Studio) haven't even hired the person they need to design and implement the beta test program, and given that the betas for both FS9 and FSX took around seven months, the odds of a December 2011 release are somewhere between slim and none. Do the math.

If MS Flight is set for a December 2011 release, then the Microsoft advertising team should all be fired.

Nobody from MS EVER stated that Flight was going to be released in December of 2011.
