January 27, 200422 yr In my uneducated opinion for air transport:The best "smart" plane -> PMDG 737NGThe best "dumb" plane -> Captain Sim Legendary 727Looking forward to filling out the B inventory with PMDG 744 and Capt Sim 707!!Scott M.
January 27, 200422 yr Greg, I noticed that you have 1.5GB RAM for your system. Mine is will be pretty much the same when my 1GB ram comes in the mail tomorrow (I also have a Radeon 9800 Pro and 3.06w/HT.) I wonder how FS runs on your computer. I notice that you run at a high resolution along with AA and AS at great quality. Do you have any add-ons besides PMDG's 737, like Ultimate Traffic? Where are your sliders at and does the sim run any smoother with that amount of RAM? I have 512MB right now and get stutters periodically, especially with weather at medium settings and squares for textures at first when I view scenery at a fast rate in the cockpit. Are some of these issues solved? Thus, what kind of performance differences did you notice after you upgraded to 1.5GB? Thanks in advance!Eric
January 27, 200422 yr Erick,It was not my intention to offend you. I am well aware of the many great things you have created for our hobby. On the other hand, people who are less knowledgeable regarding the B737 than you are (including me) and who do not own the PMDG B737 yet, might think there are some serious flaws with PMDG's model. At least that is what I think of when you talk about key areas. For those people the picture I have shown could be helpful. Thanks again for your highly appreciated work.Cheers,Henri
January 28, 200422 yr Erick,Could you please explain what the heck you're talking about? I.e., in what key areas is the visual model off? Thanks much,

January 28, 200422 yr Okiedokie then, keep in mind I've never flown the model so this is an examination of screenshots:1.) Nose contours seem off, judging by panel lines. 2.) Something about the nose *seems* a little boxy or stubby, can't put my finger on it.3.) From wingview shots I've seen, trailing edge flaps seem weird (Otherwise wing looks excellent).4.) Engines basically perfect, but pylons and exhausts look off.Besides that, it looks like a beautiful model, I'm just picky/obsessive over a few things.
January 28, 200422 yr I bought the plane about a week ago and while the panel, the plane itself and the flight dynamics are the best I feel I just wasted $39.95. I am having a very hard time making the route using the FMC. I have 2 threads in the PMDG forum about my trouble if you want to go and read them and maybe try and help me.
January 28, 200422 yr A superb addon! You won't regret buying it!!Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/pmdg.jpg ][/div

January 28, 200422 yr Joseph,Just hang on; you won't regret it. Did you download and follow the tutorial as well?Henri
January 28, 200422 yr >Joseph,>>Just hang on; you won't regret it. Did you download and follow>the tutorial as well?>>HenriYes I downloaded the tutorial. I am following the tutorial (but making adjustments cause Im flying to and from a diffenet airport than the example in the tutorial) But Im getting stuck on this one part of it. Go to the PMDG forum and look at the thread "FMC help again" that's my thread where I am having the trouble.
January 28, 200422 yr I think'll wait for the -800/900 series which PMDG have previewed in their forum, it looks much better than the 600/700.Also, I agree with Eric, the PMDG737 model does look off in a few areas. I think the wing is the wrong shape especially the leading edge slats and flaps. PMDG's wing looks way to thick in my opinion.
January 29, 200422 yr That's right, in the same vain as the boys from Eaglesoft!!! :-jumpy It's going to be great... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
