October 18, 201114 yr Hi, I just tried to add the Level-D 767 to Prepar3D and I get a CTD. This was my portover. 1. Copied the FSX/Level-D Simulations folder into the Prepar3D/Level-D Simulations folder.2. Copied the FSX/Flights/Level-D Simulations B767-300ER folder into Prepar3D/Flights/Level-D Simulations B767-300ER folder.3. Copied the FSX/Gauges/LVLD folder into Prepar3D/Gauges/LVLD folder.4. Copied the FSX/Modules folder into Prepar3D/Modules folder.5. Copied the FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes into Prepar3D/SimObjects/Airplanes folder.6. Copied the Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX/dll.xml into Appdata/Roaming/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D folder and removed all non Prepar3D entries I do not have an exe.xml file in FSX, so there is nothing to copy over. Whenever I try to load the Level-D I get an APPCRASH, the module at fault B767eadi.gau Any ideas?. October 19, 201114 yr Author Hi, Ok, the aircraft loads into Prepar3D. However, just about every other flight I get a StackHash_fe67 CTD. October 19, 201114 yr Mike, try installing into P3D. Like this:1) Use installer to point to the P3D folder2) Check if anything added to system folders of FSX, like into dll.xml or exe.xml and port it over if You might need to uninstall it from FSX.
October 19, 201114 yr I had somewhat simular problem, using Tweak-FS helped to resolve it. Don't know whether it will help you, or not, but at least worth a try... http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=491
October 21, 201114 yr Author Hi Word Not Allowed, I plan on removing FSX from my system all together. I'm seeing much better performance using P3D, so this is what I did. ======================Prepar3D Overwrite of FSX====================== -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This procedure should result in a trouble free installation of most FSX addons------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. You need to install a temporary copy of FSX, the files and folders are going to be deleted prior to installing Prepar3D. The reason FSX needs to be temporally installed is, it needs to create the folder structure, registry entries and files that FSX add-on installers look for. 2. Install FSX as you normally would, but change the installation path to D:\Prepar3D then Install FSX service packs #1 and #2 or FSX Acceleration. 3. Run FSX once so it creates the directory structures, files and registry entries. 4. Delete everything you've just installed out of the D:\Prepar3D folder. 5. Install Prepar3D, make sure you install it into the D:\Prepar3D folder. Run it once and exit. --------------------------------Munipulation of FSX Files-------------------------------- 1. Copy the files in your C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\*.* to your C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX\ 2. Copy the files in your C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D\*.* to your C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\ ------------------------------------Installing Files Into Prepar3D------------------------------------ 1. Install your FSX addons into Prepar3D, run their config programs if appropropriate and then copy any changed files (identified by their time-stamp) back from the FSX folders to the Prepar3D ones. Most often this will just be the scenery.cfg file. -------Notes-------If anything you install crashes Prepar3D, examine your exe.xml and dll.xml files, they are more-than-likely the file(s) that are causing the problem. Downside about this system is that every addon that is being installed, which is for FSX, and initially either is looking for scenery.cfg, dll.xml or exe.xml, cannot look inside of P3D folders but will look into FSX ones. This is why it's pretty hard to keep track of everything since you have two systems. It's possible, but for most users way too complicated. I had an idea about aliasing correct files or folders, with shortcuts, but don't know if that would work. Right now, I don't have the subscription, so can't test it.
October 21, 201114 yr Author Hi Word Not Allowed, If I install new addons, I just go to the FSX sub directories (ProgramData & Appdata) and look for time stamp changes, if one exists I replace the file with the one in the Prepar3D sub folder. So far its the easiest way I've found to install and use FSX addons with P3D. October 21, 201114 yr Author Hi, OK, APPCRASH B767eadi.gau seems to be fixed. Now I just have to get my hardware working with P3D and I'm all set, so far no luck with my PFC Column Yoke and VRAC Throttle Quad. November 24, 201114 yr So that means that with the setup you mentioned the Leveld works in all his features like in FSX? I am building my cockpit actually and I am very interested in switching to prepar3d to get the power out of a powerful system.Let me know.ThanksEdoardo
January 8, 201214 yr You know, I thought about writing a simple program that coordinates the files among different directories...I play Skyrim on 3 different PCs and just keep playing the same character. I have to open all 3 save game folders and copy the newest files to the other 2 computers...sounds like the above install method and my program to keep the files syncd would do the trick... Aaron

Now I just have to get my hardware working with P3D and I'm all set, so far no luck with my PFC Column Yoke and VRAC Throttle Quad. How did you accomplish this? I have copied the aircraft over into P3D v2 and am encountering the same issue. Hopefully the solution will be the same. Cheers! November 29, 201312 yr Commercial Member It's claimed that it works on the compatibility list, but the details seem to be a secret. :( Cheers! Luke Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.
