Here's why you are not enjoing P3D
> 2. Micro-stutters or stutters I'm perfectly ok with stutters if it only affects visual part. However, if it is a stutter with input skipping - then this is a problem and should be resolved.

Does affinity mask in the config file still yield results?
It gave me +5 fps in CS777 for my old system from 13 to 18 FPS. However, for newer systems it is probably not so important.

Stutters in P3D V2.3
I really don't understand what you are talking about. My system fully conforms to recommended requirements, specified here: http://www.prepar3d.com/product-overview/ And apart from this stutter problem caused, probably, by bugs in tesselation code, everything else works without a hitch. As if it could bottleneck my current CPU. But if it will do it (I really, really doubt about it) - then I will promptly upgrade to latest Core i7, they are selling for two weeks in Ukraine now.

Stutters in P3D V2.3
The problem I am experiencing (periodical complete freezes of the simulation) has nothing to do with overall system performance (i.e. number of frames per second my system can achieve). This is two different beasts. And BTW the FPS which I can achieve on my system is totally suits me (18 FPS in CS777, other crafts have 25-40+ FPS with all sliders to the right). Also, if you would read my post, you would notice that it seems that disabling Hardware Tesselation removes stutters altogether. But I can assume that you are partially right - starting from some time Prepar3d may not be tested well enough for older configurations, like mine, and hence, some bugs were introduced in the later builds. Need more testing though in order to either confirm or deny it. Soon I will upgrade to GTX 980 - but I'm sure that stutter and microstutter problems will not go away with this upgrade. According to my gaming and 10+ years programming experience, if program is poorly coded, then it will behave poorly on any hardware, no matter how powerful it is. Anyway, later this week I will do more profound testing. Right now I have not too much info to base any conclusions on.

Stutters in P3D V2.3
Stuttering is confirmed for 2.4 too. It is not only a micro-stutter - the whole simulator is stopped completely for split second, skipping input. The more higher settings you have, the more pronounced problem is, but even at almost blank world this stutter can be felt, for less periods of time and with less skipped input, though. For the biggest pauses, spikes on CPU graph could be clearly seen, where main processing thread core usage drops by ~10 percents down for no reason. Affinity mask setting makes no difference, whether it is absent or set to 14 (for my 4 core cpu). My configuration is Core i7 860 at 3.7 GHz, GTX 480 x 2, BenqXL2411T in 120Hz lightboost mode. I tried both single card and SLI - but stuttering stays the same regardless of SLI settings. I'm a long time quake player, so I know what is a smooth game and what is not (as well as fully aware about related placebo effects) - and Prepar3d, right now, is a bit jerky. However, I'm agree that it can be my configuration which acts funny exclusively in Prepar3d - but please note that other games I play (QuakeLive, BF4, War Thunder, World of Tanks, DCS World, Arma 3, DayZ and lots of single player titles) are running smoothly or very close to it. P.S. I did my testing on clean Prepar3d 2.4 install, with no other add-ons installed, default flight from LM. P.P.S. I think I am up to something - after unchecking Hardware Tesselation option in settings, I don't have now any serious stutter with input skipping. Will do later more experiments with and without it checked, but now it seems that reason for stutters is somewhere in tesselation related code.

Where is P3DV2.3 better than FSX Dx 10
What a massive troll fest this thread.

Advice on GPU update?
Heh, I still keeping my GTX 480 (in SLI though) and you want to trade in your GTX 680... As other people say, just keep your money and wait a little.

REX 4 for P3D V2
I should have wait with my purchase of REX Essential, lol.

LM Update?
Nevertheless, WBard posted alot of comments on LM forums already. He promised no due dates for the patch - but it can be seen that they are actively working on fixes right now.

The best thing about P3d V2 is not shadows but....
The best thing about Prepar3d is the people behind it.

Anyone Ever Seen This?
The problem lies not in amount of total system memory, but rather in amount of memory 32 bit applications are able to address (at the moment it is either 2 GB or 3 GB for large address aware applications). So adding system memory won't resolve this problem at all. The only solution now, is to set LOD_RADIUS and texture resolution settings to some lower values (also reducing autogen and scenery settings will also help, although to lesser extent). Also, you can try to set large address aware executable flag using some binary editing tools for Prepar3d.exe file (but I think in your case it was already set).

OMM CTD
Taking into account that Prepar3d is not a 100% carbon copy of FSX, something may go wrong with virtually any addon which you use. So, If I were you, I would try to enable add-ons in Prepar3d one by one in order to determine which specific one causes the issue. For me, Prepar3d worked fine under both Win 7 x64 and Win XP 32 bit configurations, although for the latter case I had to add /3GB /userva switches and disable one of my video cards in order to give system enough of address space.

PMDG 747 and P3D
I solved my problems with PMDG 747 by using a free tool from here http://www.tweakfs.c.../free_tools.php which is called FSX Registry Utility. With this tool you can effectively change an entry in windows registry which contains path to FSX, substituting it with path to Prepar3d. Then you do installation of the addon as usual (although you still will have to do manipulations with dll.xml).

My performance doesn't match yours.
On my system the biggest gain in FPS was from disabling Water Reflections completely in prepar3d 1.3

Has anyone tried any PMDG add-ons with version 1.2?
Problem was resolved by installing Tweak-FS Reg-Utility http://tweakfs.com/download/fsx_reg_utility.zip, changing setup-path to Prepar3d install path and installing PMDG into Prepar3d folder. Big thanks to Mike from Prepar3d forum for the idea!

Has anyone tried any PMDG add-ons with version 1.2?
And specifically, PMDG 747-400? I asking, cause right now I have a problem with PMDG 747-400 and Prepar3d version 1.2 described here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=491 So, it would be great to know, whether it is my local problem, or someone else also having it.Thanks!
