Off Topic, but which scenery is better?

Featured Replies

Hi, I want to know whether I should buy Ultimate Terrain Europe or Ground Environment X Europe? I just want a scenery package for al of Europe, so which one is better? What is the FPS like on each package? Which one should I buy? Aaron G.

I have GEX and very happy with it. You can set the features you like to tune performance and visiual experice to meet you needs. I can't speak for Ultimate Terrain since I have never used the product.

You can´t compare those 2 product.UT draw all kinds of roads, changing texture, lights, etc.GE only changes texture for water and land, but those you can edit after taste, depending of weather / Leffe

Thanks for all the advice. I will get GEX first and then get UTX later on. Aaron G.

Thats right. UTX is landclass. It defines what GEX textures will be used. I think you will find discussions about how well they play together.

You need both to get the proper effect.

Paul Smith.

I have both UTX and GEX Europe and both work very well in harmony. However, IMO they are OK if you are unfamiliar with a particular area, but if you expect to see a true rendition of a section of scenery you will be disappointed. They render hills, mountains, roads, lakes and points of interest which enable very satisfactory VFR flying.

Will UTX move the river that runs through Innsbruck, Austria to where it really is at the foot of the runway instead of the middle of the town(!). Does UTX work with Approaching Innsbruck X from Aerosoft?

Sure, As mentioned, UTX will place rivers, mountains, forests etc in their correct location. As for working with Innsbruck X, absolutely no problem.
