November 2, 201114 yr Author ...and believable and not that far out. After 9-11 they moved the airport fence at my local airport 10 ft. further out at huge cost to legislate greater protection against terrorism. This is a fence that any kid could climb over in a few seconds. Did it help-no...but we can all sleep better tonight. Anyway, I found this to be very funny because it really is close to a lot of the knee jerking that has been going on in the last 11 years and will probably be continuing. November 4, 201114 yr Commercial Member they moved the airport fence at my local airport 10 ft. further out at huge cost to legislate greater protection against terrorism. This is a fence that any kid could climb over in a few secondsYes, they did all that at my hometown airport (65S) too. I can't imagine the cost that must've been involved, one hangar was even purchased from it's owner and demolished because all of the sudden it was determined to be too close to the runway (it did just fine there for some 40 odd years, btw). Now they've got the million dollar fence with the keypad entry security gates, but they are on a timer and open automatically in the morning and close automatically in the evenings. I simply wasn't aware that terrorist activities were not a threat during daylight hours, but it's an interesting thing to note. :( What a joke...I guess if there was any good to come from 911 and the Homeland security over-reaction it would be the US/Can border 30cm aerial imagery. I've got a nice chunk of it laid down in the sim for 65S and some of the nearby airports that fall within the coverage area. It's stunningly sharp and detailed, very nice imagery. I (and you) paid for it, might as well use it...Jim
