The dreaded S-curves...

Featured Replies

Yes it's the turbulence box that does it.However, I have to say, I have all three boxes ticked, and the other day I flew into Corfu, with turbulence, despite all three boxes ticked. This is with REX weather. So FSUIPC doesn't switch off the turbulence, it just suppresses it to a degree.I shopuld add, i haven't dumbed down the turbulence setting in the FSX CFG.

Get rid of FSUIPC. My sim worked flawlessly until I installed that garbage.

I was serious, no S-turns ever occurred before I installed that. After I installed it, on my first flight they the started. First on a flight to Tel-Aviv from Frankfurt, relatively clear weather and boom bank angle autopilot disconnect. Then with the NGX over Europe towards Innsbruck. Registered and set FSUIPC afterwards, effect still there in small proportions, very annoying. What repaints are you talking about? Just out of curiosity.

I'm not gonna bash you for having a bad experience with FSUIPC. For years I had the unregistered version but after awhile I saw the benefits of having the registered version and been happy with it ever since. I do not know what program your using along with FSUIPC or even what settings you used. But its not just about FSUIPC. All the variables come in to play. ie editing your fsx.cfg, fsuipc.ini and using ASE weather in DWC mode. If you do not follow the basic tips for customizing everything it is not going to play nice or perform to your expectations.FSUIPC can be a little complex and intimidating at first but if you read the tutorials on how to set things up right ie controllers and such you will find it is probably one of the most useful utilities out there and a must for any serious simmer. The biggest setlling point of FSUIPC is setting up your axis and controls with FSUIPC rather than using FSX to do it. The reason being is FSX can't come close to the smoothness you get by using FSUIPC to do that. Along with the sensitivity line you can add to fsx.cfg ( stick_sensitivity_mode=0 ) the NGX turns to butter and flys like a dream. But that is only if you take the time to set it up right! Most of the people that did have a bad experience did not set it up correctly and those that did are enjoying it's benefits. It is only garbage to the people that didn't take the time to learn how to use it succesfully or had a bad experience with it and spent very little time trying to work out the issue. (Just my opinion now, so put away the torches and pitch forks). laugh.png

Most of these I didn't know of, so you are right in a way, because I only used FSUIPC for sim to acars communication, aka the flight recorders for VA's. After I had these events shatter my immersion I searched on Google like a maniac for a fix. Found hundreds of methods to "fix" this but each one of them only made the issue minimal, i.e. the s-turns stopped exceeding 5 deg bank angle or something. And when that happened, my fuses blew, because these issues never occurred before.I'm pretty sure that if I removed FSUIPC I'd get rid of the problem but then I wouldn't be able to record my flights for VA's.... Other than that I wouldn't have much to lose (for my usage).

If you read my tutorial and use Activesky Weather with DWC you should never have any S-turns but you have to setup it up as the tutorial states and edit your cfg files. When you get it all just right it will run and fly like you want it to.
