The FBO where I teach at has a few of these meetings a year and they are always enjoyable and you usually get an insiders deal on aircraft. Chris Miller

They are also a great way for the more social folks just jumping into aviation to network with professionals (I "became friends" with my DPE at a FAASTeam seminar!). ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
November 14, 201114 yr Another thing I forgot is to look for state flying associations. Here in Washington State we have Washington Pilot's Association http://www.wpaflys.org/ .Also if you are looking for a certain type of aircraft they have type clubs or forums. The one I am a member of is www.beechtalk.com since I fly a King Air and used to teach in Bonanzas and Sundowners. Chris Miller
November 14, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member I just logged into FAASafety and found I'd been a member for about 3 years, due to signing up from a link on the AOPA website some time ago. I had forgotten all about it and was not being sent their emails. That's rectified now, so once again, thanks! I'll look into some flying clubs around here. We're starting an Airport Authority in the next 2 months, on which I've been asked to sit, so I'm hoping that might open up some networking options too. November 14, 201114 yr Very cool! Being on the board will really open up a lot of opportunities. Everything in the aviation world is how you network and I am sure you know that well. Chris Miller
