November 13, 201114 yr I rate myself a competant user, but not a ;techn-head;, so I would appreciate advice on the following.Windows 7 performance rating gives my computer setup a score of 6.9, and I have two 100GB SSD installed.I own a Vista 64 bit and a Windows 7 64bit Operating system. A Saitek flight yoke system, Rudders, and all three panelsSo to my question.....To get the best my computer can give to FSX,Do I install both Vista and Windows 7 and dual boot and give FSX the sole use of one system.Or is there a better way for me to set up???Regards to allTrainee Piloy Sonny ipb.global.registerReputation( 'rep_post_2160883', { domLikeStripId: 'like_post_2160883', app: 'forums', type: 'pid', typeid: '2160883' }, parseInt('') ); Back to top Quote MultiQuote Report var pid = parseInt(2160883);if ( pid > ipb.topic.topPid ){ ipb.topic.topPid = pid;} // Show multiquote for JS browsers if ( $('multiq_2160883') ) { $('multiq_2160883').show(); } if( $('toggle_post_2160883') ) { $('toggle_post_2160883').show(); } // Add perm data ipb.topic.deletePerms[2160883] = { 'canDelete' : 0, 'canSoftDelete' : 0 }; #2 JSkornaMember - 8,000+ Commercial Member 20,261 posts Gender:Male Location:Warren, Michigan Posted Today, 09:44 AM
November 13, 201114 yr In general, I don't see any reason to install Vista. W7, over all, is better. I guess there have been problems with some add ons, but I think most have been ironed out one way or the other. If they don't work in W7, they won't work in Vista. Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
November 13, 201114 yr Get rid of the Vista and run Win7. Makes no sense to run both systems. Joe Brown
November 14, 201114 yr 100GB is not too much for FSX installation. I would forget about Vista, install W7 only and FSX on another drive. Some of the scenery could be together on windows drive, thus using maximum storage available. Bartłomiej Ender
November 14, 201114 yr Author Thank you for your help...I will put W7 On one disk, and FSX on the other with 'sole use' and see how things go.regardsSonny
