February 1, 200422 yr AS soon as I press "Y" for slew so I can push back the plane hurtles forward at about 250 kts.Does anyone know how I can stop this happening, I have tried pressing "5" on the keypad but, this seems to just slow it up.Any ideas appreciatedCheersTerry
February 1, 200422 yr Terry,If you are using a joystick or yoke, then re-calabrate.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 1, 200422 yr Sounds like your yoke/stick is not centered properly. Nose down will increase slew speed. So check your stick settings and make sure they are centered when you enter slew mode.
February 1, 200422 yr This can happen to me with my force feedback 2 joystick as it doesn't automatically recenter itself - i just make sure it has before pressing the Y key !!!Gary
February 1, 200422 yr Author First of all, shift-P starts a pushback, press shift-P again to stop. Turns get a little more tricky... If you change views while pushing, you'll probably have to shift-p twice to stop and start again, then press 1 or 2 (on the number row above the letters)--the plane should back up straight for about a plane-length then turn. Can never remember which number turns which way, though....If you still prefer to use the evil Y key to pushback, there are 2 possibilities, depending on specifically when this is happening...If it does this when you *engage* slew mode, try recalibrating the joystick as mentioned earlier...If this happens when you turn off slew mode, you're disengaging slew mode with the plane "not on the ground". Press F1 before turning off slew. If you turn off slew mode while not on the ground, FS2002/4 will send you hurtling forward at about 250 knots (and start your engines if they're not running) to avoid letting you just fall and possibly crash... Pressing F1 will make sure you're on the ground Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE
