HelloSometimes the people who submit aircraft textures forget to include the 'night textures as well' I used to get this a lot with the vistaliners models ,not only would I get no night lighting (cabin lights etc) but I would quite often get ghostly looking pilots (ooooHH!) as well. Now if that aircraft you show in your screen shot is from vistaliners/ffx stable its quite a simple matter to add the two (i think it was necessary files) unfortunately I cant remember how I did this ,except to say like yourself I posted on the forums and the solution was quickly supplied by helpful simmers ,so I hope the same applies in your case.To sum up it should be pretty easy to solve.AndyPS It would be helpful to potential solvers of your problem if you could mention what the particular aircraft model you are having these issues with.cheers Andy

This actually is how FS9 is at certain times of night throughout the year. Winter produces this effect earlier at night versus summer so you'll see this effect later in the evening. It's normal although some packages like REX will blacken the night even more. You seem to have a texture package installed that blackens the night in which there should be an option to put things back to default.

Oh I was wrong!!I am not sure what you meant in your original post. I have just looked again at your original screenshot and the aircraft DOES have cabin lights etc so you should ignore COMPLETELY my idiot stupid reply.CheersSilly old Wondersocks

I do have REX installed and even went in to uncheck the "pitch black" setting and still no change. What throws me off is my buddy runs REX and FS9 but does not have the pitch black aircraft like I do. It happens with every plane too.

Haha no worries! ;)EDIT:

Fixed it. I restored all of FS default textures and then went back in and reinstalled REX textures. But now I guess I just cant be happy heh heh... the textures at night are bright for night time! I wish there were a way that the ground textures are all dark but the plane is not.

I felt the same way and decided on the pitch black option after a real world flight a week after I was playing with the settings. I fly mostly in the VC and it get's pretty dark looking out over the world from inside the plane. After a certain time of night in FS9 (depends on the season) things aren't pitch black as right after dusk. This problem is not something you'll see all night in the sim.On another note I see REX still hasn't fixed the pitch black option. Once you set the pitch black option in REX there's no going back unless one does like you did with restoring the default textures. The problem is you don't have to restore everything just find the offending file. I actually found it while playing with the dark settings awhile back, couldn't tell you today what that file name was... blush.png
