Cockpit Lighting

Featured Replies

Is there a way to have additional lighting for the CDU's keypad but withiut turning-on the dome light ? Kind of hard to read at night. Thanks,Zach

Turning on the pedestal backlighting should illuminate the CDU keypad rather well. If that's not enough, the main panel flood lighting will illuminate some of the CDU. If that's not enough, you are going to have to use the dome light.

Hi guys, hope you don't mind me piggybacking but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't mistaken with this, or in fact if it is normal. Strange though it may seem, but to date I have not done any night flying in the NGX until last night. I noticed when moving to an external view, the cockpit is completely dark, with no illumination at all. Is this normal?

The instrument panel can be seen at night but not the dome light.

FSX limitation on that Howard/Vaughan...As far as the lighting in the VC, all the lights that are on the real airplane are simulated - asking for anything else is asking for something that's not there in real life.

Ahh, OK Ryan. I just wanted to know if it was finger trouble at my end. Thanks very much for clearing that up for me

The pedestal backlighting did it, there is plenty of lighting for the CDU keypad. Many thanks !Zach

Is it possible to light it at all? Or is it just the turning on/off bit that doesn't work?

****Just a follow up on my previous post response, which was for Howard, who asked about external views. Noting to do with the OP's question about The CDU keys illumination at night:Howard asked:I noticed when moving to an external view, the cockpit is completely dark, with no illumination at all. Is this normal?I did a test and said:The instrument panel can be seen at night but not the dome light.
