  • Some people dismiss the publications entirely by calling it a fictional work by those with interests in making it look good.
  • Some people go so far as to study the individual words of a publication looking for hidden meanings, and again process them through a lens of preconceived notions.
  • Some people read other books entirely, and swear by them instead.

Am I talking about societies endless debates over spirituality and religion, or am I describing the last few months in this forum? There is very little difference between the two these days. Arguments by groups of individuals so entrenched in their interpretations that come hell or high water, nothing else could possibly be the truth.Coming into the MS Flight forum here is like taking an illegal narcotic... stupidly addictive and totally bad for your health. You get nothing out of it except a brief high when you read or post new messages, followed by the huge downfall when you realize that once more, nothing was accomplished by your participation. Only to click BACK IN 5 minutes later because you see new posts in the threads you've participated in. Take a breath. Take a break. And for goodness sakes - take it easy."Amen"

Very good post Greg

Lol nobody takes this forum that seriously do they? I certainly don't get a high or low out of posting/reading, hook me up with your internet provider laugh.png We are just passionate about our hobby. I think you are right though if someone really does put that much weight into the outcome of their posts here at Avsim, it might be time to take a break.

Don't kid yourself, gentlemen.Patriotism is very much alive and well among a few users. Even if it is just for a flightsim. They just don't get that one can have different versions without "betraying" anything.

I thought a forum was made just for that.Chatting, exchanging opinions, acquire knowledge, speculating, having fun, etc .etc..So all of the messages surfaced in these days makes a forum alive, IMO.Told that, I am one with no religion, beside science.
