FSX crash when I exit a flight

Featured Replies

Hi evry one, I always crash FSX after a flight with the 737NGX.Everything is up to date, and fresh installed including WIN 7 64 bits (change my motherboard and processor).I am flying with the 737NGX, the MCP Pro with 2.03 driver version, EeasyDock and Saitek Pro Yoke. With this combinason I always have a crash when exiting FSX. The event in windows dont tell me exactly what is the problem, I have only the information "cross-thread" in the octets parts of the event of windows.Does any one experience this problem ? Of course the crash only happen when using the 737 NGX.A part from this problem, every thing is working perfectly and this plane is a great "toy" to flight, thank you for this great work.Franck Birolini

Try to use instead "End Flight" from menu "Flight" and when the Free Flight screen appear press "X"If in Full screen, only use Alt-Enter to go to window mode, never ALT-TABSee if that helps./ Leffe

well it happens to me to almost every time but not always. somebody thinks it has or can be related to AES not being finish with its program? What do you think ?And btw. CTD BEFORE launch of FSX is still normal with a SAITEK YOKE not being calibrated within or disabled (i do the plug-unplug-plug usb thing before launch of FSX)/Michael

If you use AES and exit FSX before it's finished its procedure then yes you can cause a not responding errorjust like if your on the internet and you are asking it to do something and you get an egg timer and your trying to force the computer to do another task it will do the same thing my friend,,

Guys,We've run logging on systems with this problem (we don't see it ourselves) and we're pretty convinced it's not the NGX directly causing it. All the NGX's code threads finish, it's destructor is called and everything terminates - the crash then happens after that when our code's not even running. As others have said, using the direct "End Flight" option from the menu instead of hitting Escape seems to bypass this somehow.

I have tested your method, but no change, I am still with a black screen on the free flight window, and then FSX freeze, I have to kill the task.

I was able to fix this by placing msvcr71.dll into FSX root dir.

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. WinWing FCU, EFIS, MCDU

i still have the issue even when AES is "finished" at the gate . Hitting End flight and FSX will sometimes CTD. Cant figure it out but will try the new .dll above.Just for the record, People with this do you use SAITEK YOKE ?/Michael

Are you using the ENB shading freeware modified .DLL?A lot of my exit and menu crashes in FSX went away when I removed that DLL. It is a shame because it makes the sim look awesome, but it gave me a lot of instability. I have also removed most of the tweaks recommended, I only have a couple in my FSX.cfg like Highmemfix and another one I can't remember now.Anyway, after a clean instal of PMDG with SP1, my menu and FSX exit crashes disappeared. Good luck

CANT LIVE WITHOUT ENB SERIES :-)LOL.gif !!! It just look so damn good/Michael

Well for me, it's close REX before I exit FSX. If I don't FSX crashes on exit, if I do close REX I get a clean exit.
