Upgrading from Active Sky Advanced

Featured Replies

Hi folks!First of all congratulations to your awesome new product.I have a question about the discounted Active Sky 2012 pre-release for ASE users at SimMarket. As a customer of Active Sky Advanced in the past I was able to upgrade from Active Sky Advanced to Active Sky Evolution without purchasing a new license. So can I purchase the mentioned pre-release at SimMarket with my old ASA registration key?best regards

Should I uninstall ASE before installing AS2012 or does it install over the top of ASE?Please disregard, I found my answer in another thread.

I also have an ASA key (with ASE installed) that is being rejected by AS2012. I tried to register with the Hi-Fi support ticket system but am not getting the email, and there seems to be no way to request the email be resent. What should I do?Cheers,- jahman.EDIT 1: OK, I finally got the verification email after like 20 minutes, got my new account verifiwed OK, and now I can't get in due to a "bad email or pawssword". Oddly, the ticket system has not asked me for a password during login! So I went into the Password Recovery functionality, pasted-in my email, clicked the OK button and got a "Could not open socket" error message (URL).EDIT 2: OK, I've reset my password a zillion times, using shorter and shorter and simpler and simpler passwords to no avail. I just keep getting the "Invalid Email or Password" error. THe really weird thing is I never get asked the password! (Only my email...)EDIT 3: More Errors: Bad Gateway, Error 503: Sefvice Unavailable, etc, etc,EDIT 4: Now I can finally get in (without having reset my password!) but I get the following error when trying to login:[user Error]: Unable to connect to Database. Please verify the username, password, grant permissions and the database status. (library/class.SWIFT.php:641) (URL)What gives? This is all rather frustrating.EDIT 5: I reset my password like 5 times using shorter and shorter and simpler and simpler passowrds, all to no avail, as I keep getting the "Invalid email or password" error. What's really weir, after I reset my password and enter the new one (twice), when I try to login I am never asked to enter the password! How can my password be wrong if I'm not asked to enter a password! I have never, ever, seen a login system as weird as this (and I've been doing the web since it all started...)EDIT 6: I give up.

jahman,I was entering my ASA key first instead of the AS2012 key. My mistake. I had to log into my simmarket account to get the key. When that was entered then the ASA key was accepted.

Grahamn,Many thanks for the tip! Indeed, I went into my SimMarket accunt and there was the new serial number! Strange thing is normally product serial numbers are included in the SimMarket confirmation email, but this time there was no mention of a serial number (I just double-checked), so I thought I was supposed to use the serial number I had for ASE (especially considering the AS 2012 version I purchased is an upgrade from ASE...)Will try the 2012 registration later when I'm at my FSX PC, but I'm pretty certain it should work.Cheers,- jahman.

Update: Actually both ASE and AS 2012 keys are required. Everythings working fine now and it looks very nice.Cheers,- jahman.
