A Short Tall Tale

Featured Replies

To me, the plausible world includes the weather engine and this is where XPX shines. This is by far the most powerful tool XPX has to offer.Right now, my 152 is a little overloaded, and the Idaho mountains are looming and menacing. I'll have to stay in the canyon and extend my planned route cause she won't climb for me no more. The clouds are rolling in as the sun begins to set and it's all happening too quickly. Like I needed that. Had I checked the weather before departure, I might have postponed the flight. I have other worries on my mind now, following the canyon prolongs my route. Do I have enough fuel to reach my destination? It's getting dark, too dark to see, (knock knock knockin' on Heaven's door). That river below doesn't belong there, I think I'm lost. Wish I had bought that Garmin last week, but too late to think about that now. I need to find a place to land this 'ole bucket of bolts, I hate reading sectionals in the dark. Great, now the clouds are falling and If I fly any lower, I'll pick up Rocky and Bullwinkle in the tree tops. Suddenly, a glimmer, a faint light, a flash. Sure enough, there's an airfield straight ahead. Now, I'm slapping my thighs, thanking the Lord, jumping up and down in my seat, well as much as my seatbelt will allow me. I can't believe my luck, I had just about given up hope.Yep, I got her down, wasn't pretty though. Although they call this place Moose Creek, I actually didn't see any of them. I think I saw Bullwinkle though, but it could have just been an adrenaline-induced illusion. If you ever head up this way though, bring a rod n reel. The fishing here is unbelievable, "it's as reel as it gets"!Now, where did I park my plane?

Great tale! Thx!

I've been known to "cheat" when I get myself into trouble by changing the weather and/or time of day.
