Flight vs XP10

Featured Replies

I've been playing with the XP10 demo while I await the full version to arrive in the mail, and while I've been a long time supporter of MSFS, I have to say that from a "looks" standpoint, XP10 blows FS and Flight (what we've seen at least) out of the water. That being said, we all know FS has a steep learning curve, and learning the ins and outs of XP make FS look like a walk in the park. But as I fly low in the XP demo, it really looks like a city. Streets with sidewalks and crosswalks and cars driving along, all at a pretty good framerate as well.

"Blows it out of the water"...Seriously, let's not have a nonsense discussion about a game that has yet to be released. You haven't even tried Flight yet and you are trying to say it sucks. These posts are so useless....

Lock please...

Cheers, Bert

I didn't say it sucks, and I did say that I was comparing it to what had been shown so far. All I *am* saying is that XP10 looks pretty good. I'd love to see Flight measure up since I've been flying the MS series for so long.

I can't stand that plausible world gimmick, have you seen the New York in X-plane 10? It looks like Miami :(

Flight looks better during the day to me. The plausible world thing just falls flat on it's face in my opinion. Cities look fake, generic, and unrealistic. There's no water class so everything is dark blue. No seasonal changes. No city textures so cities are just buildings on top of green pastures.I just don't find that appealing at all and that's not even getting into airport environments and the complete lack of landmarks. I prefer FSX, despite it's limitations, as an overall presentation during the day of the world. XP10 does some things better, others no so much.XP10's night lighting is what is has going for it graphically. It's a generational leap ahead and the standard going forward.
