My new rig will need to last at least another 4 years. I also use it for professional video editing, and Voice over work, hence my choice of CPU (i7 2700k)So far in my online shopping cart:Motherboard:ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOShttp://www.newegg.co...N82E16813131730$209.99CPU:Intel Core i7-2700K Sandy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623i72700Khttp://www.newegg.co...N82E16819115095$369.99Hard Drive:Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW120G3K5 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) for Windows.http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820167050$169.99PSU:Ultra X3 ULT40070 1600-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-E Ready, Energy Efficient, Modular, Lifetime Warrantyhttp://www.tigerdire...7371&CatId=5115$149.99This will be the first time I have built a rig by myself from the ground up. What suggestions do you have in order to complete the package? Are there any issues with the components I have listed so far (compatibility wise?)I will still need another hard drive to run the sim separately.Looking for at least 6gb of memory. Suggestions?Monitor, keyboard, roms, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, etc already purchased. Case suggestion?I currently have an ATI HD6750 card. Will this suffice for FSX full max sliders, Photo scenery, payware addons, HD weather, and 30 fps at all times? If not, what card or card(s) would you recommend? My remaining budget is only $350 more.

I would recommend getting a Sata III ssd. 1600Watts seems excessive. I have heard you only need that much if you are doing sli or crossfire.

You only need 1600W if you're going to do some welding. Seriously.Get an nVidia GTX580.Or, an AMD 7970 ?Cheers,- jahman.

Haha, so true. 750W is more than enough and anything more than 850W is complete overkill. As far as PSUs are concerned, think quality, not quantity.Be sure to check out the Samsung 830 and the Crucial M4 solid state drives.

Truth is that PSU for $150 is a steal, but it's going to be massively underused and if you are in a budget you'd be better off getting a good $80 one and go witha better case, or GPU

Personally I'd change the CPU to i5 2500K.... and wow that PSU is SIIIIICK! Overkill but for the price I'd buy it, nuts! I'd get an SSD for FSX too if budget allows. AMD card..... it will do alright. But I'd try to get a GTX 570 instead. Maybe sell it on ebay?

Was just reading about those 1600W PSU. At 120v they are 1200w max. Now if you have a 220v outlet in your computer room, I dont know anyone who does, they will put out 1600w. 220v only for 1600w.
Actually most of the World has 220-240V.Cheers,- jahman.
