December 30, 201114 yr Alright Bruce, keep it at 4.2 then. But so you know, I did test OC Tuner... it also set my CPU at 4.2, although it wasn't nearly the wall (mine walls at 5.0-5.1, I can do 5.0, but need a decent jump in vcore).
December 30, 201114 yr 300 only for a CPU loop is somewhat realistic. But I don't have a double radi... it's a 3x3 120mm fans radi. Basically sizewise around 370x370cm. This is the product, but not my pic: And my fans are on the inside so it looks way neater than that.I just crapped.
December 30, 201114 yr I think, as a 5.0 user, I should chime in here-I've run 5.0 since day1, without issue. I don't believe I'm really "over clocking" my cpu as mine will do 5.4 like many chips do 4.8. The point is, i'm taking what the cpu is quietly giving me. No magic bios tweak. No super cooler. No problems - using a dual boot Xp32/Win7 64. Oh ...and I'm still using an older bios (1503) on the rev 2 Asus Deluxe -if aint broke don't fix it, huh?multi 100x50Offset .005C1e ROG Maximus X Apex Z370 -- 8086 @ 5.3 / NB 5.0 -- GSkill @ 4133 c17-17-32~Cr1 1.42v -- EVGA 1080Ti 6393 -- ROG PG279Q 1440P 150hz -- Corsair H100i V2 --Samsung EVO 850(s) -- Windows7 Pro 64 --Corsair 750X Ken C

I have never dared try mine above 5.2GHz as even that speed is unstable at close to 1.5 volts. I usually run at 4.6GHz to 4.8GHz now in lieu of extra heart medicine or valium. :blink:Kind regards,

I also don't belive I picked a 'one in a million chip' at that store on that day ...I purchased 2 over a 5 day period ......both chips performed the same. I will say that I do feel fortunate now, but at the time I thought all 2500Ks could do 5.0 -based on my experience at that time.edit:p.s. I said it here awhile back and I'll say it again ....I think my chip designed to run at 5.0. December 30, 201114 yr Like I said before I'm at 5.0GHz right now and if I up the voltage a bit I can reach 5.3 maximum....I just don't want to dump that much voltage in it but I ran it at 5.3GHz for a couple weeks right after I got my chip. Tweaking? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Wl-qmEZHrBc/UAV71na0KQI/AAAAAAAAB7Q/x_lUuMxJSto/s320/aint-nobody-got-time-for-that.gif
December 31, 201114 yr I did complete 3 of 4 FSXMARK 11 runs at 5.4 before getting a BSOD during the forth run .....For the curious; the average fps for runs 2 and 3 was 48.9 ....but I can't remember if that was with the 580 or 560ti. My cpu was all but flaming during that benchmark run. ....so that score is probably somewhat distorted; however, I did complete 3dmark 06 and 11 runs at 5.4 and those scores did scale with 5.0. December 31, 201114 yr Yeah, If I had known then what i know now I would've cleaned them out.haha Me too ROFL. They'd have like 10 of us constantly buying there chips... hahaha
December 31, 201114 yr 1.35 vcore @ 4.5 ghz, stable. When Fsx is running, max core temp is 60 celcius degree. Uygar Best Regards
December 31, 201114 yr 1.35 vcore @ 4.5 ghz, stable. When Fsx is running, max core temp is 60 celcius degree. Not bad. Try bumping up your multi to maybe 48. If not stable then slowly increase VCORE. Don't exceed 1.38 volts on the VCORE.
January 1, 201214 yr I don't know where C1E is or which turbo(I saw Turbo Ratio and Turbo Mode) setting to turn off. Right now I'm lost. What I really need is a line by line step by step process outline. I'll keep trying though. Thanks all. There's a pinned post at the top of this forum which displays BIOS settings. Use the very first one done by SpiritFlyer only don't set the multiplier to 5.0 but 4.4. There are other BIOS settings displayed which give you line by line settings that have worked for many.Best regards,Jim
