A funny thing happened on the way to PAKT...

Featured Replies

I have never experienced this before and I have been using default ATC since it was introduced.I just purchased and installed ORBX PFJ, PAKT and Tongass Fjords. I was flying from the Aerosoft PANC to PAKT in the CLS MD80. Cruise FL was supposed to be FL300. I was cleared to FL210 but after I reached it, ATC did not tell me to climb any higher. Before you ask, I was tuned to the right frequency, my flightplan was not canceled and barometer was set to 29.92 after FL180. They flat out forgot about me. So I began to climb to FL300 without instructions - no response. After a bit, I requested an increase in my FL to FL320 - no response. I flew the whole flight without any response from ATC. When I was closer to PAKT, I tried to refile my flightplan to see if that would get a rise out of them - nothing. After I requested FL320 earlier, I had no options in my ATC menu.Any idea?

Maybe they left the building and went to a belated xmas party? LOL.gif

That has happened to me a couple of times, but it's really rare. I don't know how to fix it, other than to exit and start over.

Oh crap, more air traffic controllers falling asleep on the job. :(

I think you must tune to another frequency and then back to the original one. After that ATC "spots" you again and everuthing is OK.

That seems like the obvious solution but for some reason, it didn't pop in to my head last night. I did try changing my transponder...
