i5 2500K overclocked is the standard CPU for FSX right now - that's fine. New stuff is coming out in February or March if you can wait though. (Intel's "Ivy Bridge" CPUs)

The new generation i5 is a great processor, i have recently upgraded from a core 2 duo 2.66 and am very happy

I just upgraded from i7 950 to i5 2500 and can say for sure i5 rocks!

Hi,I have almost the same system like you, but I have "only" the Asus P8P67. The Asus Sabertooth is even better! I get 20 or more FPS averaged even at mega airports in NGX VC!!!!!! (I used Bojote´s Tweaking tool.)David

I have no experience with the i5, but if it were me, I'd wait until the Ivy Bridge is out (early April).First indications of prices for these new processors are remarkably nice and friendly :(
