How to make London look like London
I think currently OrbX Europe-England might be the best way to go.

Offset a 2D panel (put it on a second screen)
Right, so far I used what everybody else is using - Panel Store and Panel Restore tool... which is brilliant if there is nothing else to use and does the job perfectly. Then again, I am still hoping to find a way to make this permanent.

Hardware CDU compatible with the NGX? tips wanted!
Ramzess replied to Nigge's topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcRight, I got through it. As it appears, SIOC amd PMDG driver were getting installed in different forlders but they have to be in same folder. So first you have to install SIOC, then in the same folder install OCP4B7X7.. adjust the script and off you go!

save guage position and size in fullscreen/multimonitor set up?
Ramzess replied to AndyCYXU's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHello Frank and Andy, I am also using PanelStore/PanelRestore tool to save position and size of my CDU, PFD and ND. I just read your discussion and ws wondering if you succeeded in getting the same results by editing panel.cfg? Thank you.

Offset a 2D panel (put it on a second screen)
Hi guys, I got 3 displays - a main one on which I have PMDG NGX VC, a second one on which I intend to have PFD and ND and a third one where I will have CDU. I can pop-up each of these items and drag them out on other screens, but I am not happy to do it every time I load NGX. :( I know that in panels.cfg it is possible to configure them panels but I am novice to this and not sure how to do it - set the width and height of a panel and offset it to another screen. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hardware CDU compatible with the NGX? tips wanted!
Ramzess replied to Nigge's topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcHi there. I can see you guys are succeeding with OC FMC v3 .... I am not. I have no idea on how to get it working... I installed latest SIOC, I also installed OCP4NGX but when I start it and click on cockpit image it crushes... I will appreciate any feedback and help. Thanks

Good FMC for NGX with only USB
I thought about buying FlyEngravity CDU but then realized I'd better ask them if it will work with NGX. On their website it states that it works with PMDG 737. Anyway, they got back to me with a negative answer. It does not work with PMDG NGX yet, because NGX SDK does not allow exporting data for the LCD via USB. So they are waiting for new version of SDK (which hopefully will support it). Meanwhile I think I will rather go with OpenCockpits FMC/CDU V3. I just hope there will be no problems in configuring it and that it will work if sim in in full screen mode.

Dead airplane when loading savegame
Will have to try this approach some time later, as it has happened to me again and this time it was very annoying as I did not land well and really wanted to re-fly.Difference here is I am making my *.rte files via EFB and I am saving them with SID/STAR and RWY's. I will try saving them without and experiment more. Now backing in my memory I can't remember having such issue on first SP1.
- Upgrade for pc help ?

Dead airplane when loading savegame
I had exactly same scenario today when saved a flight over LOWI. Only throttles were working. But then again later on I saved another flight - from EGLL to EBBR and it saved fine as I reloaded it many times with no problem.

New monitor for NGX
It doesn't really matter what display one is using, resolution is what matters. And resolution is what bring your fps down.I have lowest class of NEC professional 24" displays because I need it for my work -photography post-processing. I need display I can calibrate, and that has IPS orsimilar panel technology. So happens I also use it for flying and of course I run it at native 1920x1200 resolution.I struggle for fps even though I have what may seem a decent rig for FSX (not the best no, but decent).

Do PMDG recommend using weather programs?
I have both ASE and REX. I purchased ASE back when it was still called ASA and used it for weather. Was good but somehow I abandoned it. Then I got to know REX and used it for some time and again -abandoned it. Now when I got my new rig I kind of returned to REX + Overdrive. It does improve overall looks of FSXweather textures, and I am ok with it. I know many guys out there use ASE as weather engine and REX for textures, since I don' t know how to do thatI stick to REX. So for I haven' t had any issues with this weather addon + NGX.

AoA's First Training Video Now Available
I don't understand this - imho if you don't like it, don't waste your time and breath - find something better (to do or to buy) AoA was and will be great project/company name it whatever you want. Those people give great input in education ofnumbers of sim addicts. Quality of their work is splendid. Price is adequate. And timing - well it is better to measure 6xand cut than cut and then measure. Sorry guys but those who hate variables of this project better go and find something else to hate.AoA will not stop doing what they do just because of a bunch of "dontlikes" and "neverhappies" True - majority of what they intend to present in these videos one can find online, in PMDG supplied PDF orprinted manuals. Nevertheless I have both - printed manuals and access to AoA video projects and I can saythat they both fulfill each other. Chill.

Settings with Saitek pedals
Hi, First, download and install the latest drivers from manufacturers site.Plug in your rudders in USB, let windows detect the device. Then start your FSX (I am guessing you run FSX not FS9), go to settings>controls>control axesSelect "Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals" in Controller Type Then using "Delete Joystick Assignment" button delete every wrong instance of set axes (mind you you can scroll down the list)For me, by default I got Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder and Throttle set on pedals. Obviously I would delete all but Rudder event (cross checking though that it is Rudder axes assigned for tis event). Then if not already assigned, assign correct axes for rudder, brake (left axes) and brake (right axes) events byselecting an event, clicking on "change assignment", putting pressure on respective axes. For left and right brakes you'll have to put ticks in Reverse tick boxes. Then go to calibration tab, select "Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals" in Controller Type, select the Advanced Controls and wack up both brakes and rudder sensitivity to max right. When all set, click on OK in settings-controls window and you' re good to go.

25SEP11: Latest Hotfix and SP1 Scheduling..
Mate, I had the same issue - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/349539-hot-fix-applied/ Just deleted fsx.cfg, shader folders, then regenerated cfg and reapplied Bojote's tweaks on it.So far so good.
