  1. You don't feel like that? Seriously? If you taxi the 737 at an airport, and a bit later the 777, you directly have the feeling it's much higher, it's also much bigger, and you really have to take care taking tight turns. The 737 just feels small compared to the 777.
  2. Off course possible, but I guess one of the reasons why it looks not too realistic is that it's exactly at 360 degrees. Looks like the ground texture blocks that load like this as well.
  3. I definitely agree with you Robin, however I've seen those big 777's land at Schiphol many times where they kept the nose gear for over a km in the air after the main gear touched down. Surely that's not what is the normal procedure, but it is very impressive, and on a runway which permits this kind of behaviour due to it's length it sometimes is quite fun to do so. I was actually surprised for how long you can still keep it in the air. I was doing about 75 knots when it went down eventually.
  4. You actually should hear a very distinctive sound upon touchdown. Yesterday I had the smoothest of all touchdown I've ever done with the 777 and I still heard it properly when my main gear touched the ground. Then I kept my nose gear as long in the air as possible, and when it finally started to go down I again heard a very noticeable sound. In between you'll hear the rolling of the wheels on the runway, including some squeaky sounds of the plane's frame. Surely add ons like Ezdok or OpusFSX create a more immersive experience, but that is not restricted to touchdown only. You'll get the in-flight turbulence, the acceleration during take-off runs etc. About the throttle reduction: the 777 will only reduce throttle to idle between 20-10ft during ILS autoland. Using your reversers to reduce throttle more quickly is not the way to go. Also, you shouldn't use reversers when your nose gear is still of the ground, as it would make your nose gear to slam into the ground because of the quick deceleration and decreasing lift.I do even believe that using the actual reversers is not possible when not all gears are on the ground, but I did not try that in the PMDG 777 yet.
  5. Hi, I've just bought FTX Global Vector and after a fast download I am trying to install it, however the installer just stops without any message. What I did and what happens: * Extracted the zip-file * Start the executable, enter registration and the setup starts un-wrapping the installer * I get a message saying I should not click "Finish" until the installer is finished * The installer starts and asks me to agree to the license agreement * I click next and the installer says "Preparing to install, checking file conditions" * when the green bar for checking file conditions is full, the installer stops, and only the unwrapper is there waiting for me to click Finish. * However, in FSX there are no new entries in the scenery add-ons list, nor do I see any difference in FSX. It seems to me the installer didn't do anything. Anyone has an idea of what I can do to solve this? Thanks
  6. If you delete the incorrect course in the NAV/RAD page it automatically gets the correct course So there is a workaround for now.
  7. I guess you're starting the flight with the Cold & Dark panel state? It is a known bug that you get that error and PMDG will fix that in a next update.
  8. Anyone up for a challenge to do a fictional livery? I am talking about the new livery from Air Malta, which I am sure will look very good on a 777. This is the one I am talking about: EDIT: VIOLATION OF COPYRIGHT. POSTER SUSPENDED. Despite it looking quite 'simple', there are lots of details to it. For example the tail, all those different coloured bits have patterns in them as well. Different kind of patterns per coloured bit as well. Furthermore, I could supply one who is up for the challenge with the logo for both the 'airmalta.com', 'malta' and 'the airline of the Maltese islands'. I have tried to do this livery myself, but I can't possibly get the alignments of those coloured bits correct on the lower and upper fuselage.
  9. A question to the painters, what is your strategy to get lines at the bottom fuselage to line up and in the correct angle to the lines on the side of the fuselage? The biggest problem is at the front and back of the airplane.
  10. I'm sorry for the late reply, had to sleep as well ^_^ The weird fact is that I do not have this issue in the same simulator with the 737NGX. I do believe you when you say that the plane gets this data directly from the simulator, but then I wonder why it doesn't happen with the 777. Gotta give it a try again tonight, maybe with a reinstall of the 777 first. Will keep you posted.
  11. I followed the tutorial, disabled weather in OpusFSX, no other WX apps. Location is just left Male, Maledives enroute to Dubai. Just closed OpusFSX completely and loaded the clear skies preset in FSX. Still the same. I know that, but I think I was too lazy to convert them to jpg. I don't like that last sentence, worked perfectly with the NGX
  12. Just cleared all weather but nothing changed. Everything stays the same.
  13. Flying lightweight should give me a better fuel consumption though.
  14. Exactly, and I have no idea what it causes. It also climbed with 6500-7500fpm and I don't think that is correct either?
  15. I see screenshots in the tutorial with groundspeed of 487kt. With no wind in the tutorial, that should be the true airspeed too, or at least very close. I have max 325kt. Crappy photos I made attached.
