Posting here, as I'm sure most now know the response time on the EZdok forum :Hypnotized:Haven't had this issue for a while, and just can't seem to sort it this time.EZdok no longer starts with FSX. I haven't changed anything within FSX. Tried a reinstall to no avail.below is my exe.xml file entries and the location is correct.

Just tried adding: <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine> but didn't change anything.

Do you still get "EZCA" listed in the FSX "Menu" bar at the top of the screen in FSX, Phil??

You might need to uninstall and redownload the flight1 wrapper install.

No, no EZCA options in the menu bar.Not heard of, nor previously had to redownload the F1 wrapper, but it's an option I haven't tried I suppose.

Do the other exe's listed in the exe.xml start ok?

Yes, no problems there.I use to get this a lot, but as I recall, could never get an answer from the support forum. Then, after a complete OS & FSX reinstall, it was fine until now.

I've had this crop up occasionally. Each time, it was because my FSX administrator rights somehow became deactivated. If you have UAC off, then this isn't your problem. If UAC is on, check to make sure that administrator rights is checked on your fsx.exe file.

what is UAC?

UAC is User Account Control for Windows7/Vista.Now THIS is bizarre... If I remove all trace of EZCA and reinstall original v1.15, then it will launch with FSX. Once I update to current version (v1.17), it not only fails to start, but I then have remove it all again before reinstalling to get it working again. Absolutely crazy or what??!!I do so hope all this stuff gets sorted in the v2Strange thing is, I understand there are some users who've never had ANY such issues since day 1, where as some, like myself, have had many such problems.Ain't you gotta just love FSX and it's foibles :(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_ControlWhenever you reinstall EZdok be sure to install it as if you never installed if before. So indeed use the original wrapper and do NOT use the install exe you get after using that wrapper: that is known to give problems with EZdok.

I've heard about problems with 1.17, specially since it needs to install some extra stuff in order to get the global camera working well. It has to do with memory... Anyhow, I would advice to stick with 1.5 OR to SKIP the extra install for that worlds camera...EZDok is great when it works and if you know how it works, but if you are new to it... it's horrible.

Hi Jeroen and thanks.I've had EZDok since release and would have to agree, that when it works, it's great. For me, it's a 'little' like FSUIPC, in that I can't imagine flying without it.I've never heard about not being able to use the same exe file installer. Even if Windows has not been reinstalled since unwrapping? I'll now give that a try to see what happens.I 'THINK' I need to use 1.17, as I have multiple controllers plugged in, that use different settings. Not sure if early versions allow for that. Will report back.ps Anyone got any 'inside' information on v2? Getting help, never mind info from Marniftarr seems to be like getting blood out of a stone :( :(

Okay, all finally working, but what a waste of time...As mentioned here twice, it certainly does seem to need a COMPLETE new install each time. This includes RE extracting the exe from the Flight1 wrapper.

Yep. It's odd and weird but that's how it is. Glad to hear you've got everything working again!
