[Bufferpools] ?

Featured Replies

Because of very bad perormance I decided to investigate and make comparissons with an old FSX.cfg file I had saved,This one had a Bufferpools section, whereas the active one on my installtion doesn't, I added the line to the bottom of the active one. Doesn't FSX during installation detect hardware and adjusts it self to it?Why does anyone think the [bufferpools] section didn't show in my latest install?I'm also getting more RAM for my machine to get better performance by adding 2GB more...

Bufferpools is a “additional command” and not generated on a re-build.Ram works best in matched pairs. 2x2GB would be better. The slow processor and video card are a bigger problem.Dave

I agree with Dave. Your CPU and graphics card are just not up to the task of getting good frame rates and image quality. FSX requires the latest hardware to enjoy. I just upgraded to a core i5, 8G RAM, and a GTX 560ti video card. Couple that with fast RAM and a good motherboard and I can FINALLY run this sim at acceptable image quality and nice frame rates. That is the only way to get this pig to run Im afraid.

I have added the line [bufferpools] at the end of the .cfg file...Still have to test. A new processor and video card is a new computer around these parts. Ihave been looking at these RAM:PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 240pin and still wih shaky hands finding out how to open the computer?

I believe this Bufferpool line creates itself when FSX installs and detects the hardware...? If it didn't in my last install and I just have added and tested it ( It hasn't helped at all,in the contrary it's made it worse to load...I should delete the line again?

It does not create itself, . It can only be added.
