January 26, 201214 yr Been having some issues with MSI Afterburner so I was trying the overclock feature of Nvidia Inspector.Does Inspector have to be running for the overclock settings to 'stick'?I have rebooted and called up inspector and the OC settings are still there, but Im not sure what happens when I exit Inspector?Any ideas? Thanks,Glenn Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

January 26, 201214 yr i understand that you want to squeeze as much FPS out as possible with OC'ing. But, you have to remember that FSX isn't GPU bound. It is a PCIe hog and a CPU hog. OC'ing the GPU likely will provide little FPS gain.

January 27, 201214 yr Author Confirmed with GPUZ.Overclock settings 'stick' without having inspector running and between re-boots. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

Remember, FSX is typically CPU bound but that's not a rule.I'll look and see what I've got my GPU core speed up to. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
January 27, 201214 yr Since Nvidia inspector will oc the gpu on the fly you will see it's effect immediately in fsx. So it's easy to see if a particular fsx session will benefit from a gpu overclock. For my system I will see an increase in performance with something like a carenado aircraft when I oc the gpu. On the otherside, a gpu oc with the NGX will not increase performance as in that session I am bottlenecked at the CPU.FYIJBSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJB Buzz313th
January 29, 201214 yr Overclocking the GPU can produce frame rate improvements if you're using high levels of AA...overclocking my 580 does increase frames with 8xS and 2x transparency AA on a 2560x1600 display.nvidiainspector does not have to be running after making changes...it is an interface to write out settings read/used by the driver.
