AI frame rates PAI vs AIA

Featured Replies

Hmmm, some great points there guys, thanks. I think I may try replacing just a few aircraft at a time, leave the UT stuff intact but replace the aircraft in the aircraft.txt with AIA and FSP ones. That sure seems like a ton of work though, all the repaints, models...etc. Also seems like it can get a bit ridiculous with how many aircraft are in your aircraft folder too. I may just leave it alone too! Hornit

I admit this is the dastes way, but at the end of the day, you do not know, what models you actually have in your aircraft folders except by opening each folder and checking the model-name. I therefor keep everything tidy and you can tell by the folder's name which model is in it. e. g. "AI-B737-AIA", "AI-B737-PAI", etc.Wolfgang

If I may be so bold, you didn't read my post correctly at all.To use your example:If I have a 737 model by Aardvark, but I want to use Hiro's FDE, I would leave Hiro's FDE AS IS, only copying in the LIGHTS and CONTACT POINTS section from the original Aardvark aircraft.cfg, to assure that aircraft would use light and contact references for the Aardvark model. Hiro's FDE remains otherwise unchanged, but uses that Aardvark model, lights, and contact points. We now have an Aardvark model that flies with Hiro's performance. It's a very simple procedure that I have done 100's of times in the past 3 or 4 years, as better FDE's have become available. The only testing required is to spot the aircraft at the gate, observe lighting locations, and how it is sitting on the ground.
