February 1, 201214 yr It has come to our attention that a certain purloined letter may be of interest. It seems a good idea to make it available to all.A copy is available here: http://www.mediafire...5ufj82cgyzf21dz--M --Mike MacKuen
February 2, 201214 yr if we are limited to 12 legs per aircraft type would it be wise to draft a list of available types among us?i have the following available for flight1) dh86 mosquito2) warbirdsim P513) A2a P514)p38L5) hawker tempest https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1i2ps64jvzuzdp/Leon.png?dl=1
February 2, 201214 yr It's 12 legs for just the aircraft listed as "thoroughbreds"... we can use anyone one of those planes in that category up to 12 times.
February 2, 201214 yr should i file any of my planes to let them check for validity? i dont want to ghet us in trouble running these in the race https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1i2ps64jvzuzdp/Leon.png?dl=1

February 4, 201214 yr Oh, someone in Race Commitee "leaked" information.Good information to provide us all with well in advance. In section 8 the DH.103 is listed as Thoroughbred aircraft. In appendix C it is in section for Normal Race aircraft.Need some editing in final version. There are different versions of the DH.103, one from Alphasim/Virtavia and one freeware model. The freeware model is significantly slower, so that version is considered a normal race aircraft. In the FAQ in the document there is also some more information, e.g. we need to specifically state that we are flying the freeware model (dubbed RR-SOH or something), otherwise it will be classified as a "fast hornet" leg. February 4, 201214 yr The freeware model is significantly slower,The actual model is quite bit faster... you have to download (link in FAQ) and swap in the appropriate .air and acft.cfg file for the particular RR Hornet you are flying... (the more info Klas referring to).Another caveat is you have to use the F.1 model if you are going to fill external tanks (probably necessary... for sure for a 700nm leg). The F.3 can be used sans the filling of external tanks (so range is over an hour shorter than the F.1).Dave from SOH mentioned the F.20 and NF.21 are 11 and 16kts slower (respectively) than the other two, with the updated .cfg / .air files. It's a gorgeous external model with a very nice VC... certainly worth the time to download & "patch" for those of us who use just FSX.
February 4, 201214 yr It's a gorgeous external model with a very nice VC... certainly worth the time to download & "patch" for those of us who use just FSX.I concur No1 especially the F.1 version . Should be quite a popular Baton runner this race along with the "Tanked" Bearcat LR and the trusty but tricky Avanti :) TEAM AVSIM "Fly Anything" Member BAW 1193
February 4, 201214 yr Please can someone point me in the right direction for the Tom Falley FDEs required for some of the eligible aircraft? I'm looking specifically for the one for the P/F-82G. I've looked in the "letter" and on the AVSIM and Flightsim sites and can't find anything.
