Error message?

Featured Replies

In layman's terms, what does this error message means?"Current Task: Creating the ISpAudio object..., Error Code: 0x8004503a"I got this message when I went into the configuration management, and clicked on the Speech Recognition Init Log. I can hear the co-pilot and crew, but they can't hear me.

Hi John,Was it working before and this just happened out of the blue?Try this:1. Make sure your Speech Recognizer is setup as per the manual2. If using XP, uninstall and re-install SAPI.3. If Vista/ Win 7, sorry to say it, but you may just have a corrupt system. We're finding that certain programs like 'Systems Mechanic' may be damaging the user's registry and corrupting the speech recognition system in Windows. You'll note that it's not just FS2Crew that's affected by this, but also every other 3rd party program that uses the Microsoft Speech Recognition API.None of them work either. You can try doing a 'Systems Restore' or re-installing Windows.

Man that sucks! I do have Window 7, and it was working fine before, but now it's not. I just hope I wont really have to do a system restore or re-installing windows. I have to many programs working just fine, many of them FSX 3rd party addons. Only FS2Crew for my PMDG J4100, 747x, and Level-D 767 is where I get this same error message.

Hi John,If it worked before and then it stopped working, something messed up your Microsoft Speech Recognition system. As mentioned, it's not just FS2Crew that'll be affected, it's all voice programs, like Voice Buddy, VOX ATC, etc.Have you recently run any tools that perform "maintenance" on your system like "System's Mechanic"?It seems those programs appear to be the culprit.

No, nothing like that, but I just noticed something. I have a headset with a USB port, and I also have a microphone that I can use that connects to a microphone jack. The microphone works with FS2Crew, but the USB headset does not. I rather use the headset and keep my hands clear to work the controls. Any suggestions, and sorry for the ignorance here? lol

Hi Johnnysorry I am work so can't answer specifically until I get home, but make sure the USB headset is showing under 'Heading & Sound' in the Control Panel .... I think that there is a tab called 'manage audio devices' or something. Make sure the USB headset is 'ticked' in here.regards Dave

For some reason my device manager is not recognizing my USB headset. I got other USB devices including TrackIR, and they are working fine and being recognized by my computer, except for my Logitech headset. Could it be a bad headset, or damaged USB connector? that's the only thing I can think of right now.

Ever since then I've added FREECORDER to my browser, FREE YouTube to MP3 Converter. I've always had FRAPS, even before FS2Crew, so I know it's not FRAPS. I have a ton of addons for FSX, but they are all sceneries and aircrafts. That's about it!

I like my converters because I like to get music and sounds from the internet that I can later use on my FSX videos. I think I'm going to try getting a headset that connects to my microphone jack, not USB. Since my hand held mic works with FS2Crew just fine, I just have to find a headset mic to keep my hands free for flying.

You mean if you use the hand held mic the speech recognition system loads fine?
Yes, exactly, and it works fine with FS2Crew which I use for the J41. PMDG 747, and the Level-D 767.
