PCI-e 3.0 testing

Featured Replies

Hence pci 3.0 is already available today with a socket 2011 CPU and a 7970 card? No need to wait for ivy bridge then. Has anybody done any test with fsx?

If someone wants to lend me a HD7990... or two I could be convinced to be a tester. :LMAO:

looks like the hopes for PCIe 3 have been a little flattened.

That's why I posted the article....the question is...was the PCI-e 3 completely saturated with their test or was there some more room to play with, what will be the result using FSX to test.

It might just be now that GPU's are not just powerful enough for the extra bandwidth.

And remember.... FSX is a "special" engine. It will be able to take advantage of PCIe3 much better than regular optimized software.

I will remain skeptical about that. I will be saving my money from Ivy Bridge and maybe going for an IB-E down the line or something because at the moment, I still dont think I will magically get fantastic results, or enough for me to spend the money.
