February 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member I heard that some kind of Bufferpools setting might reduce stutters. I'm currently using this:[bUFFERPOOLS]UsePools=0RejectTreshold=131072You're negating the RejectThreshold command by putting UsePools=0 in there. RejectThreshold allows for most of the benefits of UsePools=0 without the instability. I'd recommend making a fresh fsx.cfg (delete/rename the old and let it rebuild) - set up your options and then run your cfg through ******* Altuve's tweaking tool here: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html This will make all the necessary adjustments for you.Get the latest Nvidia driver and set it up according to my guide pinned at the top of the forum - set your FPS in the sim to Unlimited and use the Nvidia driver limiter to 30 or 40 or whatever you feel works for you. (I use 30 myself) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
February 6, 201214 yr I reccoment to delete bufferpools entery from fsx.cfg...for me it's better. I set 35 fps in inspector and use shaders 3.0. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4teW-NDLza8I got great fps improvement by moving active sky to my laptop. It's causing realy big lags Edited February 6, 201214 yr by Jet_Airliner
February 6, 201214 yr FSX disk access happens at quite ridiculous transfer rates, very low queue depths, and still some people seem to see huge improvements in smoothness and texture loading / reduced texture blurriness with SSD's.Placebo effect IMO. You can slew forward at 100000mp/h then wait for textures to load and compare / monitor SSD's vs HDD and there is no sign in my experience of a I/O bottleneck.I'm no expert in these system monitoring things, but I'm under the impression that people make hardware upgrades as a leap of faith and then they obvioulsy "see" the results because they want to, not because they're really there. February 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member After having bought this SSD, I hoped that all stutters were goneI'll just repeat what others said - won't make any difference. Whoever was peddling that nonsense has shares in the SSD manufacturer. ;)Best regards,Robin.
February 9, 201214 yr Author I'll just repeat what others said - won't make any difference. Whoever was peddling that nonsense has shares in the SSD manufacturer. ;)Best regards,Robin.Well, it is definately no nonsense at all. As MrKen said, an SSD definately helps to reduce stutters, but not in frame rate. You say that it doesn't make a difference, so what's the point that people defrag their HDD's then? They always say that it reduces stutters. The thing is, my SSD has reduced stutters quite well, but it's just still there, although it's not that bad. The stutters are really short. Using an FPS limiter does not really work.I would just like to know, WHAT'S THE GENERAL WAY TO REDUCE STUTTERS? Because sometimes on YouTube, I'm seeing videos, with people not having stutters or lag at all! Thing is, I'm having great FPS (30+), sometimes even in the high 40's (50+ in cruise), but it's with some slight stutters, although it's not that bad.I reccoment to delete bufferpools entery from fsx.cfg...for me it's better. I'm getting 30-35 fps on Aerosoft amsterdam with PoolSize=0, and I'm getting around 20 fps there when I delete the bufferpools. Also, I know that the Shader 3.0 mod can reduce stuttesr quite well, BUT - it causes static water animation for me. Any solution for this? Edited February 9, 201214 yr by arjenfsx Arjen Vandervelde
