Sometimes its because you are launching in the default lobby. Open your fsx.cfg, scroll to the multiplayer section at the bottom, and change the default to another lobby, I use:DefaultLobby=Competitions

Unfortunately, gamespy's servers somewhat are unstable when they have more than 500 users on at once.

This works....

You can also change your port configuration...But just use VATSIM or IVAO.
