Great news! Wise business decision by this talented team! I hope it's the NGX but i will buy anything they create for X-Plane.
100% agree.

I certainly hope PMDG do not ignore the current version of X-Plane (v9.7).Additionally I would venture to say the current crop of XP developers (i.e. JRollon, Ramzzess, FlyJSim, STMA etc) have no need to establish "credibility" for anything.

That is definitely good news for XPX, I am impressed with PMDG for not going down the path of least resistance with P3D, them locking their aircraft out of the program altogether will probably ruffle some feathers as well.I personally am just waiting for someone to dive into the AI code and see if we can't strip the AI to just basic models and have them follow a track and not have their own physics, which gobbles up cpu cycles. That and we need some type of generic airport buildings, for at least the major international airports.

most certain that PMDG would skip the previous version.

Really? Now why on earth would a crew of clever individuals such as PMDG not support a stable installed base of customers for v9.7?The quality payware aircraft I currently own support both-with one exception that is waiting for XPX to further mature before offering XPX versions.I guess we would just have to ask the question of PMDG....and I shall do so :(
