February 5, 201214 yr Just a heads up. :smile:http://www.geforce.com/Drivers Edited February 5, 201214 yr by benorg
February 6, 201214 yr Author These are beta. Changed the topic title.ThxThanks for that. I have noticed actually that frames are more stable for me and stutters are greatly reduced.
February 6, 201214 yr Really? I had completely opposite experience. I tested 3 times back and forth (yes, with safe mode cleaning and all that), and each time I loaded 290, I had way more stutters. This has been tested looking over the wing towards terminal when taking off the KSEA in default 737 - IMO the best test situation for testing stutters. You can very nicely see how buildings stutter. There is no stutter free config for this situation though, it's very hard on the system. There is a major stutter on the beginning and when the terminal buildings come into the view. And each time I reverted to 285, everything was good, with way less stutter. Be careful of it not being a placebo effect if you are not using a decent testing situation (I can send you the files if you want).
February 6, 201214 yr Early reaction to the new driver is mixed at best and seem to be trending to very negative. It might be good idea to pass on this one.Kind regards,
February 6, 201214 yr It seems that there are some problems with video playback and memory leaks... At least that´s what i have read from some people in other forums. In my case, almost a week with 295.51 beta, and the opossite experience: 3-4 fps more in FSX with PMDG NGX and zero problems...maybe it´s too early to judge.Best.Miquel Egea.
February 6, 201214 yr Author Be careful of it not being a placebo effect if you are not using a decent testing situation (I can send you the files if you want). It isn't placebo. I tested for 10 minutes in the A2A cub around PNW and I can see with my eyes that it is much smoother and that the frames are a bit higher. I use FRAPS for FPS.
February 6, 201214 yr Well, then I guess the driver is way to unstable/unreliable.You didn't forget to re-set the nvidia inspector settings to the same settings as before?
February 6, 201214 yr Author You didn't forget to re-set the nvidia inspector settings to the same settings as before?Nvidia inspector is a joke for me. Pain in the neck to work with and the FPS are horrid. But yes, I did do a clean driver installation.
February 6, 201214 yr Ah well, to each his own.Maybe I have less stutters with older drivers than you have with 290. Also a possibility ^_^
February 6, 201214 yr I am ok with inspector and like that in can lock the frames. No problems here with inspector and the frame locking tool within it :) Simon
February 7, 201214 yr Author Ah well, to each his own.Maybe I have less stutters with older drivers than you have with 290. Also a possibility ^_^Yeah.... Well, we have different setups so the smallest things might make a difference."Ah well, to each his own." - Very true with software/driver configurations.
February 7, 201214 yr Can anyone shed light on how to delete/install these drivers? I usually just delete in add/remove programs, then install the new driver manually. The talk of 'safe mode cleansing' and such has me baffled! :) Oz Sim Rig: MSI RTX3090 Suprim, an old, partly-melted Intel 9900K @ 5GHz+, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster TPR Rudder, Warthog HOTAS, Reverb G2, Prosim 737 cockpit. February 7, 201214 yr Uninstall completely from add/remove, probably need 1-2 restarts, then restart into safe mode, run driver cleaner in there selecting all of nvidia, and then go back to normal windows to install drivers. That removes all the rests of the previous drivers ensuring that it's a complete clean install.
February 7, 201214 yr Thanks, i'll try the extra safe mode steps when/if I install these drivers.
